Is a Syphilis Test Conclusive at 8 weeks

Hi there! had a possible exposure some couple of months back and did a syphilis test (VDRL) exactly 8 weeks post exposre. It came back negative .  
can I take this as conclusive? i have read somewhere that only 3 months test is conclusive - any Idea about this?

In 99% of the cases normally within 3 weeks people will have symptoms like chancre sore, fever, etc, 8 weeks almost conclusive, maximum window period is 90 days post exposure. you can relax - no worries.

I would say that without any symptoms and a negative test at 8 weeks you're pretty safe. If you are still worried then another test at 3 months would put your mind at ease but I'm confident it would also be negative.
