Is it Possible

Is it Possible

I wrote in about a week ago ref: unprotected sex & worried that i might have an sti even though i had two negative tests the following week after the sex occured.

I am still experiencing symptoms, well i say symptoms what i mean is a general discomfort of the penis. burning sensation of the tip & what i think could possibly be discharge, i would like an clarification of discharge if you could please, in my case, my penis tip at the opening looks wet, even if i havent urinated for a while (not coloured, clear), there is certainly no large amounts or drips of anything. I have no pain passing urine, but as I say a burning sensation that always appears to be present.

My Questions for you are this:

1. Is it possible I had TWO false negative results at different times as i was on doxycycline (100mg twice a day for 10 days - Sinuses) at the time of the swabs & urine samples (two different occasions)?

2. Does it sound as though I should go & have another test?

3. Is it possible the Antibiotics i was on didnt clear the the infection if indeed i had one (which you said was unlikely), even though these symptoms were present from about 6 Days after the sex.

4. Are you going to suggest again out of compassion rather than criticism that i seek mental help!!!

5. To be honest I have been incredibly paranoid about everything, can it really be all in the mind/anxiety, especially as its three weeks of the same symptom on & off, I must admit it does seem worse when i think about it.

Thanks in advance, you must be sick to death of these re-assurance type questions, I can only apologise, but at least you got another donation...

Keep up the good work, no doubt you have helped thousands, you deserve all the recognition you get (thats if you get any of course)!

Thanks for the thanks, but this should have been a comment in your previous thread, not a new one.  It also should have been posted on the new HIV/safe sex forum; see this statement on this forum's home page:  "The two most common types of questions concern the risk after a particular sexual exposure or a question about symptoms that might or might not be due to STD or HIV.  If your question is along these lines, please visit the HIV Prevention and Safe Sex Forum."  This is your last permitted post on either forum for the next 6 months.

The answers to your questions are:  1) No.  If you were taking doxycycline it would have cured any urethral STD you might have had.  2) No, but see a health care provider if you are concerned about your symptoms.  3) No.  4) Yes, or at least get your primary health care provider's advice about it.  5) No comment; see no. 4.

Yeah I know doc, wont be posting again, don't worry.

Again thank you for the input, I'm off to see my primary health care professional for some help, no only joking, fears have been put aside now & ill get on with my life and stop looking on these sites, I think actually getting on with my day job might be the better option, otherwise, if im not careful, i will not only have strange penile symptoms but also be unemployed!! Now that would be bad!!

Good Luck with all your future visitors.

During my Doxycycline course I missed one and  half days tablets (about days 4 & 5) then continued for a further 6 days, would this make any difference?
