Is this nsu or something worse?

Is this nsu or something worse?

I have had a number of symptoms since last sleeping with a new girlfriend 6 weeks ago.
we had sex  first time just oral unprotected then two days later full sex(protected).
11 days later i noticed a red swelling on penis close to scrotum(no pain) i went to the doc who diagnosed an infected hair follicle, gave me antibacterial cream to sort it out(which it appears to have although hair follicle fallen out and shiny pearly scar left).....2 days later i had a swelling of the lympth node(left side of groin)  followed by a sore throat, followed by a rash working up my body...random spots(singular) appearing on my face and even on my ears and neck.  this hads concerned me as returning back to the doc resulted in a anti-histamine for the rash!
seeing as i was not finding much luck  i visited the GU clinic along with my girlfriend, where all tests were done..HSV, Chlamydia,Gonhorea,HIV(although 3 weeks since sex so have to retest in 3 months).
Both of us came up negative. the problem is that six weeks on i still suffer from the rash which itches very slightly. Some of the spots do tend to have a pimple centre(white, very red around the outside)Also a discomfomfort of the urethra(pulse sensation) Also a prickly sensation around testicles).
I am totally at loss to this as it seems a lot of symptoms to just be nothing.Part of me says sit it out but its hard to ignore especially as its been six weeks ...should i go and see another specialist?
Frustrated and concerned

Sarah_C has it right and her advice is good.  Your symptoms don't sound like any active STD problem, certainly not nongonococcal urethritis (NGU) (the preferred term over nonspecific urethritis, or NSU). Continue to follow up with your health care provider(s); if no resolution soon, considerr asking for referral to a dermatologist.

Good luck--  HHH, MD

Since you've already seen both your GP and the GU clinic (and since you plan to go back for another batch of tests in 3 months), I would assume that your doctor is correct and that you have a nasty allergy.

Use the antihistamine, but also, consider your and your girlfriend's lifestyles. Have either of you changed your washing powder, or your deodorant? Does your girlfriend wear scented pads? Have you started using a new soap or shampoo? Scented lavatory paper?

And an important one. Are the condoms or lubricant you are using treated with nonoxynol-9? Nonoxynol-9 is sold as a spermicidal lubricant, and it has even been shown to kill HIV in very specific laboratory conditions, but for many, many people the irritating effects it has actually damage the genital tissues to the point where people who have come into contact with it are at *more* risk of catching an STD than those who do not.

Some people are allergic to latex (which most condoms are made from) too. Possibly trying polyurethane condoms for a while and seeing if the symptoms persist would help you discover if this is the case for you.

Are you usuing a mineral oil based lubricant? Some people are very sensitive to these lubricants, and develop yeast infections and other problems while using them - and anyway, no one should *ever* use an oil-based lubricant with latex condoms, because the oils can degrade the latex. Just changing the brand of lube might be helpful even if it is not mineral oil based.

Some things to do about allergies (apart from finding the thing which is irritating you and avoiding it) include washing the area with cool water whenever the irritation begins, drinking as much water as you can (this is good for you anyway) and making sure your general health is as good as possible.

Best of luck, matey - looking forward to the Doctor's advice.
