Itching and extreme redness

Itching and extreme redness

About 3 1/2 months ago I was in China on a business trip and received oral sex from a masseuse that lasted about 2 minutes.    About a week later, I began to feel tingling/itching sensation in my urethra and my testicles became sore including my nymph glands.

Throughout this ordeal, I have visited my physician a number of times including an urologist and after multiple tests including urine; blood, and swab, all results have been negative.  Also, I have taken two antibiotics treatments, one which lasted one month.

Overtime, the symptoms from my penis and testicle has gradually decreased, but now I

After multiple physician visits and treatments, there is nothing further an online provider can do.  No STD causes the symptoms you describe, and receiving oral sex low risk for STD and virtually zero for HIV.  Your current symptoms are not related at all to the oral sex event you describe, unless they are simply due to anxiety over the event.  Anxiety probably doesn't create symptoms out of the blue, but it can powerfully magnify otherwise normal body sensations.  Although you don't say it, I'll bet your providers have told you the skin of your penis and scrotum are normal.

So my opinion and advice are that you have nothing that will ever harm your health (physically), and that you discuss the possible emotional origins with your primary care doc, if that possibility hasn't already been done.

Good luck--  HHH, MD

Dear Doctor,

My physicians have also concluded that this might be emotionally based and magnified.  However, if that was the case, I can't understand the reason for the spread towards by rear side.

Could my symptoms be HSV since the redness and itchiness are symptoms of this?  Is HSV detected by standard tests?  If it's HSV, could it manifest itself more on the rear than with the penis?

Also, during this time, I have been experiencing an usually high occurrence of diarrhea.

Could you please confirm my questions?

Thanks,

You describe itching and redness "in my rectum", but presumably you mean around the anus.  Herpes is an unlikely explanation unless there are discrete sores; herpes symptoms do not last 3 weeks without starting to clear up; and you were not likely to acquire HSV from the exposure you describe.  You might have irritation from the diarrhea, or perhaps a yeast infection.  None of this suggests HIV or any other STD.  In any case, you need to see your provider to examine your anal area and provide professional advice.  There is nothing more I can do online.

I have the exact same thing. I received oral and a week later it was red and itchy and eventually moved to my anus. Diarrhea followed and lasted 3 weeks. It's been 6 months since my exposure and every test has come back negative and more than once. The redness isn't as bad but I still don't feel normal in either spot. I'm having a full exam of my digestive system on Tuesday 2/27/07 and will share any findings if you'd like.

I still believe I caught some sort of virus but it appears not to be a STD. At least, nothing of the norm. My doctor said it's possible it's a virus but they may never ID what kind. Bacteria is also a possibility.
