LabCorp results , help pls

by confusedNY, Jun 09, 2007 12:00AM
Hi everyone
I am having hard time and going through some rough times with the high possibility of having genital herpes. I am more frustrated with test results.
I month ago I had sex with a prostitute and I used a condom, and I felt her vaginal liquid over the skin of my penis in the areas where condom didn’t cover. The intercourse didn’t last long very short.
Two days later I started feeling tingling sensation on my penis, itching but definitely no causes visible sores.
Exactly 7 days after intercourse I had blood drawn for std test. I just found out the LabCorp HSV I/II is 31.4 high which means I am being exposed to herpes but not sure if its HSV 1 or 2. Doctor draw blood again and will request specific test for HSV 1 and 2, but until next week I am going crazy. Doctor also suggested that antibodies don’t usually appear that early I might already had HSV 2 earlier although I last time I had sex before the encounter with the prostitute mentioned above is 2 years ago and never felt the symptoms I mentioned above.
So my question is about LabCorp results is it very high that definitely is HSV2 or can HSV1 virus create antibodies that are 31.4 or is it 7 days after exposure to early for antibodies to be formed ?
Any comment is welcome
Thank you in advance

Your results are meaningless until you have a type specific test. The results probably mean your like the other 80% of the population and have oral herpes.
The test really needs 4 months to be accurate, so don't waste time getting multiple tests. Do you have any symptoms or blisters?

When I was a kid I am sure few times I had a cold sore in my mouth
As per the area of genitals I never had anything to suspect, especially the last 4 weeks I've been inspecting the area around my genitals 5 to 10 times a day
For the first 2 weeks after intercourse I felt tingling and burning sensation on the top of my penis inside urethra- and I don’t think I felt any burning feeling when I urinated. Right now on and off I feel a little burning sensation on the top of my penis inside urethra, but when I urinate I don’t have any burning feeling
thank you again for support and comments
will see what next week brings

p.s. Grace I didn’t know that users from these sites visit HHP forum, regardless I found both sites very informative and helpful.
