I was tested for HIV at a testing site. The first lancet did not work. The second one did. The test was negative, but I have a concern about the lancet used.
My test overlapped with someone else's. I did not see the nurse take my first lancet out of any drawer. I believe that these lancets are the kind that are rendered inoperative after one use. I'm afraid the first lancet that didn't work was the one used on another patient.
While it did not puncture my skin, is it possible that placing against the same finger that was soon after punctured with another lancet poses a risk?
I did not see any fluids or anything on my finger after the first lancet was used, but it concerns me that there might be a possibility that a used lancet was placed against my fingertip right before the second lancet was used. Please advise.
