Likely Herpes?

by loustew, Jun 02, 2009 03:11PM
I'll try and keep this as brief an outline as possible:

- Recently been getting severe pains in lower back, testes, and lower abdomen with sore throat and headaches. Few weeks ago, I was very itchy around the groin area, and then within a day or so started getting itchy all over - but think this may have been exacerbated by internet research and paranoia as to potential for what these symptoms may be.
- Weekend before last my wife got 6 or 7 blotch type marks across the upper part of her buttocks - pretty much where the top of her underwear would be. They were spread pretty much from far left to far right (hip to hip). They never became blisters, but were itchy and  she's been scratching them a lot. We've been putting antispetic cream on them, and they seem to be calming down - they're redder now, from itching, but have definitely not formed anything blister like with puss. We initially put it down to insect bites from working in the garden, but I wasn't so sure and my curiosity got the better of me so started researching.
- I've not had anything remotely resembling a blister or sore since any of my pains started, either in my gential area or anywhere near my mouth etc - almost 3 weeks ago.

I'm wondering if this could be genital herpes and one of us has been dormant until now, would seem to be me, and my pains are in relation to it becoming active, and I've passed it on to my wife? Where I've gone into overdrive thought mode though, is we're currently trying to get pregnant, and I've read all sorts of things that could go wrong if she does get pregnant and get herpes for the first time, if this is what it is.

Any helps/thoughts/suggestion appreciated? We're both going to doc's anyway, but be good to get some thoughts in the meantime.
