Male yeast infection or something else?

I'm male. Over the last 3 weeks or so I've had unprotected sex with a woman 4 times. On the first occasion, an itchy red rash development on the head of my penis and foreskin. It started about 12 hours after intercourse. It looked exactly like an allergic rash I get in response to spermicide. Also like that allergic rash, this rash went away over the course of about the next 4 days.

We had sex a week later - same thing. Rash gone after 4 days.

At my suggestion, she stopped using a vaginal washing product she had been using. The next time we had sex, there was no rash (but I also washed my penis thoroughly fairly soon after sex).

Then a couple of days ago, we had sex again and I got a rash again (but I didn't wash soon after sex) and she has not been using the washing product. Again, the rash seems to be on course for going away after 4 days.

My suspicion is that this is an irritation or allergy and not a yeast infection? I say that because it always comes on after about 12 hours, and goes away after about 4 days. From reading on the web, that doesn't sound at all like a yeast infection, but I could be completely mistaken of course.

So I'm suggesting to her that to stop this happening we should be looking at other personal care products she is using, but she thinks she should be treating herself for yeast infection.

Grateful for any help! Thanks!

a fungal infection will not come and go only with sex like this.

what brand of condom are you using?  perhaps buy non-lubricated ones and use a separate lube with them that is non-spermicidal like astroglide or regular ky and see if that helps.

does she shave her pubic hair or do you?  sometimes prickly hair can be an issue too.

Sounds like you are doing a good job of detective work that will absolutely help any MD you both see. Also doesn't sound like herpes or HPV, but truthfully, since I can't see it withh my own eyes...you need to follow up with a GYN doc or clinic that does such and tell them this same info. Have you tried a condom? Just another thing to rule out.
