Mole on side of scrotum.

Dear Doctor,

I want to begin by saying i appreciate the work you have all done here, the forums, and archieves have helped me very much. My concern is slightly different.  I have a what appears to be a mole on the side of my scrotum where it connects to my inner thigh, had it since i can remember, no pain, it is slightly raised, i have shown an std specialist doctor and he simply said it was nothing, and to not worry about it, i have been tested for everything except HPV and Herpes, all negative, however i was observed and there is no trace. I have also been to a dermotologist who said i have the option to freeze it, however to avoid scarring i told him not to..i hope this wasnt a mistake, he didnt seem to be concerned himself either. However i have been having massive anxiety lately due first off to having my gf returning for a visit in 3 weeks, and worried that it may be HPV or a wart of some sort, i know i have been told by the doctors not to worry and that it "wasnt warts"..however i am concerned with misdiagnosis and if i have warts i may have to break it off with my gf, i know HPV is common but i do not want to risk her getting a severe case. I am posting a link to a picture to help, i know you are busy by looking at the forums. Narrow it down: Is it possible to get a mole on the scrotum? Should i try freezing it incase of concern? What could i tell my gf if it is simply that?
Would a urologist be able to give a more accurate diagnosis? Should i just forget about it? Picture below

Thanks alot doctor, hope that helps.

If an STD specialist thought it was a mole, that's probably what it is and I can't add anything.  It doesn't sound like a wart and it certainly isn't herpes. Conceivably molluscum contagiosum, but the STD specialist should have recognized MC.  And yes, it is possible to get a mole on the scrotum, or any other part of the body.  If it is growing or changing, go back for another look; or perhaps get a second opinion from a dermatologist.  I don't look at posted clinical photographs; it is too close to practicing from a distance.

Good luck--  HHH, MD
