is more aggressive in late hiv infection and the like. Obviously I will seek a confirmatory diagnosis from my doctor about this but since its the pimples of the rash ARE NOT really visible unless viewed under CLEAR LIGHT (as they are flesh coloured and invisible largely invisible if you simply look at it) I can tell that if it is indeed molluscum
it would be pretty mild hence not aggressive. My question simply is whether the connection between molluscum and hiv is only stressed in people with LATE hiv infection (in other words those who have been infected for a few years) and has NO relationship with people with early infection
Another relevant consideration is that I never had any skin diseases when I was a child hence no measles chicken pox or anything like that much less mollucscum would that make me prone to it as an adult?
Molluscum has NOTHING to do with HIV, and I wish people would stop saying that lol. Its not your fault, but it seems people like to connect everything with HIV.
Molluscum is even found in day cares, where HIV is not an issue.
Anyway, you should see your doctor. You can get molluscum at the gym, etc. Go to www.ashastd.org for more info on it, but molluscum isn't something that is hard to see.
thanks for the speedy reply! just one question though I first got the pimples at 5 and a half weeks after sex is it normal for the incubation period to be that long? and does not having Molluscum in my childhood make it all the more likely I never got it and therefore never developed resistant to it?
oh one final question..! while I am fairly certain its molluscum I just want ta double check!
basically its clusters of tiny pimples over the chest area that are invisible when u look at it directly because they are kinda flesh coloured so it looks like a normal rash at the outset. However when you hold them under the light you can see all those clusters of pimples..itchless as well. Is it common to have it on the chest?
Have you googled molluscum to see some pics? Keep in mind that sometimes they show worst-case scenarios, but you should be able to find some good pics to see what they look like.
What you are describing to me doesn't sound like molluscum, but again - I'm not a doctor who has examined you.
Having molluscum before doesn't mean you can't get it again, so it doesn't matter if you've had it before or not. It can take 2 weeks to maybe 6 months to show symptoms, so 5 weeks is certainly appropriate for molluscum, but again, its just not sounding like it to me.
