Mycoplasma Genitalium

Doctor,
I recieved unprotected oral sex from a professional 8 weeks ago. Probably the biggest mistake of my life, but now I need to deal with it!  Almost immediately, the next day, I had symptoms of pressure in my kidneys and abdominal area toward my bladder, and slight irritation at the tip of my penis.  As I was concerned about stds so I went into a clinic 5 days after exposure for testing and all tests came back negative.   I was given 1000mg of azithromyacin in a single dose, to take care of any of the "small" bacteria that are difficult to detect like MG.  My symptoms mostly went away for about 7 days but then they gradually came back.  I continued to have pressure in my kidneys but no real pain.  The pressure continued form what felt like my kidneys to my bladder.  After 5 weeks I went back for additonal blood testing for HIV, hepetitis, and whatever else they test for in blood. All came back negative.  I continue to have pressure in my kidneys and now my uretra and tip of my penis are more irritated.  I have noticed no discharge and there is no pain during urination, but I do have urethra pain at rest and has seemed to get worse in recent days. My ability for sex is all but non existent due to the irritation to my penis and difficulty getting an errection.  When I do get an errection, the urethra pain is worse the next day.  I have had 2 urine tests and all came back clear with no blood, one test 5 days after exposure and the other 3 weeks after exposure.  My doctor says I am fine and that all my symptoms are psycological, but the way I feel I am not sure as the symptoms seem very real to me.  I am still reluctant to have sex with my wife even though my Dr has said I have nothing to worry about.

1) Could I have Mycoplasma Genetalium?  I have read that azithormyacin is not 100% effective.  If I have NGU, would blood show in my urine in normal urine analysis?
2)  What other tests if any should i be concerned with by what I have descrbed?
3) Would a general urine test for a annual physical detect NGU by detecting blood in the urineor is there a specific test needed?

Your assistance is greatly appreciated.
Very worried,
thebuick

There are a couple of different ways that they can test for MG. They can take a swab or you can do a urine test and they send it off. I think the urine sample was more thorough from memory and was a new test when I was infected.
I had a MG infection about 6 years ago and still struggle with the symptoms despite being cleared with the infection. I dont care what anyone says, MG creates ongoing issues after you are "cured". It's not in your head!

Vance, thanks for your feedback.  When I go back to my doctor should I request them to test for all types of bacteria in my urine? If it's not a STD, it's just way to coincidental, I still have symptoms and need some resolution very soon.

1) burning at the tip of my penis and urethra but not during urination, usually later in the day it gets worse
2) slightly swollen glands in the groin area (I already have HS2 so am familiar with the swollen glands)
3) I still have abdominal sensations of pressure in the areas of the kidney toward the bladder

No Dr's here, this is the free section

1) If you had NGU you would have discharge
2) None that have to do with STD's
3) It might, but it might not. Not really looking for blood in the urine but for bacteria in the urine.
