NGU Treatment?

What is the proper treatment for NGU or just Urethritis? Is 1gm of Zithromax the preffered and correct treatment? Or is another medication better?

Thanks.

Prostatitis I am sure is possible, but i don't know enough about it to comment on it.

NGU should be cleared by now, but sometimes NGU is actually a different bacteria that might take a different type of medication...like staph or strep.

I got it (clear DC) with frequent urination and burning urination about 3 weeks after unprotected sex and recieved unprotected oral from a girl. One night stand basically.

I have followed up with my Dr. all those meds he has given me. He said I may need to go a Urologist at this point. But does anything else cause the clear DC besides STD's? I have tested negative for chlamydia and gonorrhea, If I had NGU wouldn't that have cleared by now? Will azithromycin possibly work at this point?

What about prostatitis, I'm only 30? I'll research prostatitis, I don't know it's just obviously getting annoying.

Anybody else have any information?

Best advice is to follow up with your Dr, maybe for more testing.
If you still have symptoms then it is not ok to resume sexual activity.

But the clear discharge...when do you get it?

Well the problem is I have taken Doxy, Rocephin, Flagyl and even now I'm on Cipro and I still have a little CLEAR (not colored) discharge, I guess it's NGU or just Urethritis but it didn't/hasn't cleared up, why? So I'm wondering why these four meds have not taken away the slight DC. Will Azithromycin help me at this point? I had Chlamydia and Gonorrhea test last week that were both negative, huuuuuh, just really frustrating I want the DC to go away it is really annoying.

Any other ideas?

Am I ok to resume sexual activity? Without giving my partner anything?

"The standard treatment is either a single 1.0 gram dose of azithromycin (which is long-acting and actually gives over a week of effective treatment); or doxycycline, usually 100 mg twice daily for a week.  These cover chlamydia as well as nonchlamydial NGU."

Dr. HHH

And you should already know that since you posted in that thread.
