NGU from handjob with saliva

Hi, I previously posted about the risk of getting STDs from receiving a handjob in which the other person used saliva as lube. I was told there was no risk. One month post the event I'm feeling discomfort. It feels like butterflies in lower abdomen and a irritation or sensation in my penis. No discharge and no obvious burning or pain during urination. No other sexual acts during the past month other than self-masturbation.

My questions:

1. Is it possible that bacterial-type infections like NGU or gonnorhea take a month to present itself?
2. Can a NGU (non-chlamydial) be transmitted from saliva used as lube during handjob? I heard saliva during oral can transmit NGU but also read from Hensfeld that saliva does not transmit STDs.
3. Do my symptoms sound like a possible STD and should get tested despite event being mutual masturbation?

Thanks for all of your help.  For those users reading this, I was tested for chlamydia, gonorrhea, and trich and all came back negative.

I think you are way over thinking this, way over analyzing this and spending too much time worring about this.

You need to accept that you don't have a STD.

update: i went to to the clinic and asked more about the tests.  I said that I think I did the urine sample incorrectly and that I was worried about false negatives. They had me talk to the tech (different tech from yesterday).  From what he said, I think I had a urine culture plus the NAAT or PCR tests on the urine specimen for chlamydia, gonorrhea, and trich.  He said that they take the urine sample and then take only the correct amount of small volume of urine for each PCR test.  He said it doesn't matter if it is first stream or mid stream urine and that the volume doesn't matter. A false negative just doesn't happen.  He also said that since they are also doing the urine culture that it is preferable to do the mid stream and to clean genitals before urinating in cup.  He said that if it is there it is there. Again, I urinated about half of a standard urine cup (max volume I think is 3 Liters).

Is the information the tech gave me correct?

Clarification of these tests would be great. Thank you!

The urine cup was 3 liters and I filled it up half way. Ive seen on here that one should urinate only 30mL. Is this for a different test type of gonorrhea/chlamydia test? I just don't see how I can urinate only 30mL when given such a large cup. Does this make my previous 2 tests last year in which I filled the cup possible false negatives?

I need to clarify. I've have received and given unprotected oral sex in the past so these tests are meant for those exposures and not just the recent mutual masturbation. Hence why I asked about Trich.

I'm quite dissatisfied with the medical care. They don't seem to be too knowledgeable about testing. I just has another urine test for chlamydia, gonorrhea, and trich. They said they do a culture. I waited three hours between last urination and before urinating in cup.

1. Is a urine culture specific for the STD as accurate as NAATs? I always thought they did PCR for the DNA and not culture. Is my primary care using old tests that are not as accurate?
2. They said volume of urine, first stream or mid stream, etc does not matter for these std tests. They encouraged filling the cup. I filled the cup only halfway this time, but in the past always filled it all the way. The cup is 1200cc.
3. This time I used a wipe to clean my gland and the urethra as I was told. But I just now read online not to do that. Will this affect the accuracy of results? Should I ask to take another urine sample?

Again this is testing for past unprotected oral exposures not the more recent mutual masturbation. I'm very upset if past urine samples were false negatives. Please let me know if urine tests were done incorrectly.

the urinalysis looks for several things in the urine that can be signs of infection. if yours was normal, nothing came back worrisome on it that would've made them pursue further testing.

trich in theory can be transmitted through non-sexual means but it very rarely is, if ever, transmitted that way.  I wouldn't worry about trich from this at all.

no, chlamydia and gonorrhea would've still been detected 6 weeks post encounter.

you are worrying needlessly. why are you determined to convince yourself that you had to have contracted something from this?

keeping this to the original post:

really appreciate this forum, thanks in advance.

I had a urinalysis done last week because I was having discomfort after urination, maybe even mild burning/pain.  This was 4-5 weeks after receiving a handjob with saliva as lube and fingering the same female.  Urinalysis came back clear.  I'm very concerned because I do not want to infect my girlfriend with anything. I should say that I have had unprotected intercourse with girlfriend twice back in July.

1. If i urinated several times earlier that day, mid-stream, and filled the cup fully, would the urinalysis be accurate or give me a false negative?
2. Does the urinalysis tell me anything about NGU or is it only for detecting UTI?
3. Is Trich a concern from mutual masturbation since it is/was believed to be passed by towels in warm environments?
4. Is the evidence that Trich is not passed by oral sex good?  I know it is a relatively under researched but common STD, so was wondering what the latest info is.
5. Can men now be tested for Trich reliably via a PCR test?  Is PCR test available in most places now?
6. Finally, I've been tested for gonorrhea and chlamydia in the past and was clear.  Would testing so late, 6 weeks after the event, allow for a gonorrhea or chlamydia infection to go undetected and thus possibly transmit to my g/f in the interim?

i saw your response after i posted stating that the clear discharge was sticky.  sorry about that.  thanks for your quick response.  it isn't very painful (more like a mild irritation feeling after urination, but find in the mornings) so i guess unlikely it is herpes outbreak in urethra.  waiting to get an appointment to see doctor. thanks grace!

herpes ob's in the urethra are very painful and are constant.

don't squeeze your penis hard!!! Be kind to the lil guy! Of course you'll get clear discharge when you do that dear.

Just one last question, could this be an HSV-2 outbreak in the urethra?

I squeezed my penis head this morning and noticed some clear discharge.  I don't know if it was pre-ejaculatory fluid or discharge.  My urethra feels more irritated after urination. There are no blisters nor anything visible from the outside, but could this be an infection from a long time ago and one of the recurring outbreaks that I'm now noticing?  Or would I expect lots of pain if it was a herpes outbreak in urethra (even if it was a recurrent outbreak)?

std related pain wouldn't only last 10 minutes. it would be pretty much constant or at least with every time you urinate.

Can an NGU or bacterial STD appear 4-5 weeks after an event or does it always appear within 1-2 weeks?

I appreciate your feedback, but I still have some sensitivity and today a little bit of pain when walking that lasted for about 10 minutes.

Is it very unlikely that this could be STD related because of no discharge and because it didn't start until 4-5 weeks after handjob with saliva?

I don't want to potentially infect my partner.  I always use condoms with my partner so I hope that even if I had an STD that she would not get it since we use condoms, right?

nothing you've mentioned sounds std related.
