Need Help With Chlamydia Question/STD's possibility

A week after a possible exposure to STD's I had blood work/urine sample taken for all different types of STD's.  Everything came back negative.  Specifically, after my negative results can I be sure that I do not have Chlamydia?

My partner was detected a Chlamydia trachomatis in his blood, but not in the smear.
What does it mean? Is he infected or not?
Can I get the infection form him?

You listed the accuracy of Chlamydia results - what about Gonorrhea, are the listed the same as well?

If you want cold hard facts, most studies say the tests for Chlamydia are at least 95% sensitive, often times they are reported as 98% or higher.

I usually believe tests are accurate so if you do not feel any symptoms I wouldnt worry about it.

Thank you for the quick response...

I am a male, so does anyone know my chances of having chlamydia even though my test results were negative?

yes u can be sure that you do not have chlamydia but not necessarily other STIs such as HPV, warts, HIV since testing for that is more accurate later on.  in men, sometimes even when chlamydia was present the tests may show it as negative but i dont know how common this is.
