Its not HIV.
You do need to follow up with your doctor though. Maybe you have some vision issues that are causing headaches, but you do need to get it checked.
Again, its not related to an std.
Aj
hey sorry to bug you again but it has been 8 weeks now. my right eye began to hurt when i changed focus quickly with this came a horrible headache and a swollen lymph node in my neck. this has been going on the past 3 days. and the headache seems to worsen on as the day goes on. any advice is greatful i am just so worried about hiv.
You need to show your doctor. There is no std that causes a bump in the throat.
Aj
i used all my meds and the bumps are still on my throat. this is really making me nervous now. any advice ?
lets hope thats all it is. ill let you guys now my 12 week test.
Sounds like sinuses to me.
Aj
thanks i appreciate i am still going to get tested at 3 months. its been 24 days now so i ll just wait it out. the only symptoms i have shown to date are red bumps on throat, swollen tonsils, stuffy nose, and post nasal drip.
Sounds like it, but you should never ever leave your doctor's office without knowing a diagnosis, and why you are taking meds.
If he seems like he is in a rush, so what? He gets paid (and paid well, I might add), to be in a partnership with you regarding your health.
I wouldn't worry about stds or HIV.
Aj
he didnt say it was quick. But since he prescribed it with the antihistamine i am guessing for a sinus infection. i just hope this has nothing to do with a std or hiv
What did he prescribe the levaquin for?
so i went to the my friends dad who is a doctor today he took a quick look at my throat and pescribed me levaquin and xyzal which is a antihistamine.
yeah its horrible. i deal with it though as long as i keep busy i am fine. i feel alot better today. my throat is less red and i have no temp.
You should talk to someone about the anxiety. There are good meds and therapy for it.
Aj
i am taking ammox for the sore throat and mild fever. the anxiety isnt reallynew.
What are you taking amox for?
ARS is not that common, and you can never diagnose HIV based on symptoms alone.
Remember that most people don't have HIV.
Is this anxiety new for you? Maybe you need to see someone about it.
Aj
as well as a mild fever today 99.6
thanks i appreciate it. Its just all this ARS talk scares me. I am loosing my mind here. I am only 17 and i made a stupid mistake which will never happen again. i definatley learned my lesson. I ve been taking ammoxicilin for the past 2 and half days and it hasnt responded. is there anything i can take to stop this ?
HIV wouldn't even cause these symptoms. You need to relax. What you are feeling is probably allergies and stress.
Aj
please give me some reassurance and guidance. i appreciate everything youve done so far. i still have my postnasal drip and red throat. (which doesnt hurt) i do however have a headache in my lower head. i also woke up with night sweats last night. i keep thinking i have gotten an hiv infection and its tearing me apart.
Your chances of HIV are very slim, as I have said before. Most people in the US don't have hiv.
Don't hesitate to call the doctor and check on the results. Sometimes they end up sitting on someone's desk who is out sick or on vacation.
Aj
well i didnt get a call today, so hopefully i am negative for everything. i ve stopped looking stuff up on the internet hopefully it will help. What do you think the risk factor for hiv was ?
Sounds like the symptoms I get with allergies. I so wouldn't worry about this, and stop looking stuff up on the internet - it will make you crazy.
Aj
clinic said they would call if the results are positive for anything. The internet is making things worse. For some reason i think i have hiv and ars symptoms now. i am going to work now hopefully get my mind off of things. i still dont have a fever but i do have a dry cough and my throat is still red have some muccos driping down. it maybe just allergies ( i hope). i know the odds of one encounter is 1/1000 (with someone who is + ) and i only penetrated for like 30 seconds and a inch in but i still feel horrible.
Sore throats can be from so many things, so please don't worry about HIV, ok?
Remember that most people aren't infected with HIV - less than 1% in the US, and other developed countries have similar rates of infection.
