Negative tested for STDs but pain in testicles. I'M PANIC.

Hello doctor,

I am 43 and married and unfortunately 21 days ago I had sex with an escort.  I gave her unprotected oral sex, she gave me fellatio with condom, no penetration happened, and some kisses.  Also she was masturbating and then touched my genitals. Since then I’m in panic condition not to pass anything to my wife.

I had no symptoms at all until 3 days ago which I feel a slight come and go pain in my testicles.  Pains that you feel as the trouser is little tight and squeeze the testicles.

I have been tested 2 days ago for gonorrhea (morning fluid sample), Chlamydia (blood), Herpes (blood), syphilis (blood), and also urine analysis and culture.  ALL NEGATIVE and clean.  Still worry though due to the often testicle come and go slight pains.

What should I worry about? I’M IN PANIC CONDITION.  I can’t risk my family and I highly regret what I’ve done.

Please help.

The gonorrhea and chlamydia tests are 100% reliable. The blood tests are not; it takes 6 weeks for reliable blood test results for HIV and syphilis.  However, there was no chance you were infected, and neither syphilis nor HIV causes the symptoms you have had.  Feel free to have additional tests in a few weeks, but it really isn't necessary.

Of course see a doctor if your testicular pain continues or you otherwise remain concerned.  But there is truly nothing to be worried about.

Welcome to the forum.  Bottom line:  Almost certainly you have no STD from the exposure you describe.

First, cunnilingus (oral contact with female genitals) cannot cause genital STDs.  Second, fellatio with a condom is 100% risk-free.  Third, hand-genital contact also is risk free.  For these reasons, it is impossible you acquired any STD

Further, no STD causes testicular pain as the only symptom -- especially the vague sort of discomfort you describe.  Howver, this symptom is typical for genitally focused anxiety.  Finally, the STD tests you had are highly reliable. They confirm you acquired no infection from during your recent commercial sex exposure.

Everything you are feeling probably is due only to your anxiety and guilt over a sexual exposure you regret.

Really, settle down and think objectively.  You could not have been infected and you have no STD related to the exposure you describe.

I hope this helps.  Best wishes-- HHH, MD

The blood tests for chlamydia are useless.  Your positive result does not necessarily mean you have a genital chlamydial or ever did.  You wasted money on that one.

All this suggests you sought online testing instead of seeing a health professional, and if you had a "comprehensive" STD panal or something like that, it probably included other tests that were not necessary in this situation.  If your testicular pain continues, see a doctor or clinic in person.  Do not try to figure out what tests to have through an online service.  You have wasted enough money already.

Thank you so much doctor!

Sorry for coming back again.

I don’t know if this is important, but just came to me that the testing showed that I had Chlamydia (IgG) at the past (which I didn’t know) BUT now I’m perfectly clean from Chlamydia (IgA) which are tested by blood.

Thank you.

PS: Should I test for prostate for the testicle pains?

Just an additional question: Is the period of 18 days enough for testing or we might got false results on some STDs?
