No symptom STDs

Last sexual encounter was receiving oral sex about 4 months ago. There was deep throating and I ejaculated inside her mouth. Fast forward 4 months and I have had no symptoms on my genitals or anywhere else. Healthier than ever you could say. I was not worried before but I read that some STDs carry no symptoms. Is it possible I have been carrying a STD this whole time? Will symptoms eventually show up or can you go a whole life time with an STD and not knowing? Should I get tested? I know oral sex is low risk and especially if I have no symptoms I feel kind of dumb wasting time and money getting tested, but I am kind of paranoid that I could have a STD without symptoms and pass it on to others unknowingly.

So literally the only difference between STDs and other sicknesses is that they are sexually transmitted? Even untreated the body fights them off? Makes sense now that i think about  I was under the impression that STDs could only be cured from medications or else they live inside of you forever. I understand I was not under any risk now just wondering for general knowledge.

I didn't realize it was protected. Zero risk for sure.

Most human infections clear up without treatment.  Think of the millions and millions of people with pneumonia, strep throats, and staph skin infections through human history, before antibiotics were available. The vast majority of infected people survived and were cured by the immune system.  Why should STDs be different?

Had no idea the body can cure STDs themselves. So regarding oral sex STDs they all show symptoms?  May i add it was protected oral I know my worry probably sounds ridiculous but thanks for clearing things up kind of naive about STDs

First, this was a safe exposure, with little STD risk.  Some STDs are possible from oral sex, but all are much less common than with vaginal or anal exposure. Second, if you were infected, you probably would have had symptoms.  It is true that asymptomatic infections can occur, but they are the exception, especially after oral sex. The only 3 STDs of significant risk from oral are gonorrhea, herpes due to HSV1, and nongonococcal urethritis (NGU), and all these generally cause symptoms. Third, in the event you were infected, two of these -- gonorrhea and NGU -- would usually self cure within 4 months.

So I agree with your inclination to not be tested. You can safely go on with your life without any worry over this event.
