Not sure what to make of results

I guess I will start with why I got tested in the first place...I have always tested negative on Herpes IGG test.  My last test was 9 months after last possible exposure and was negative, both HSV 1 @ 2 (Herpes Select).  I received oral sex three times from a stranger (with a condom each time) in early November.  I was concerned, so about 4 weeks later I had a full STD panel done.  I did not have any symptoms, just wanted to get peace of mind.  Everything came out negative besides the Herpes IGM test came back Equivocal at 1.08.  This was my first Non negative result ever and my first IGM test.  Of course, I found out I should have never ordered this test after the fact.  So I was re tested with the herpes Select last week(10 weeks after exposure) and HSV1= 0.10 HSV2=0.22.
1.I am hearing many things about IGM test and would like to know how can it not be a negative if my IGGs are Both negative???  2.Does this mean anything?  Should I be concerned?
3.I have had both MONO and Chickenpox but have recently read you do not support the cross reaction theory while others do.  So is it just an unaccurate test not having anything to do with cross reactions?
4.Is their a ratio of false positives?
5.Possible to have a positive(or in my case close to positive) IGM and have niether HSV1 or 2?
Like I said before, no symptoms, no history of ever having an STD, and I did this test as a result of receiving protected oral sex a few times.  Just wanted to be responsible, but this darn IGM test has caused me some anxiety.
6.Should I be tested with the Western Blot after 16 weeks????  Thank you for your service and I am glad you are trying to get the word out on these confusing IGM test.

Rely on the HerpeSelect (IgG) results; disregard the IgM result.  Your test results prove you do not have either HSV-1 or HSV-2.

1,2) No, you should not be concerned.  See above.

3) Search the STD Forum threads for HerpeSelect test and IgM and you will find a thread from a week or so ago, in which I described the result of an email to the world's expert on HSV blood tests (Dr. Rhoda Ashley Morrow).  False positive IgM tests probably do not have much to do with past mononucleosis, chickenpox, or other herpes group infections.

4) I don't understand question 4.

5) No.

6) Western blot testing isn't necessary.  You can be confident you are not infected.  (Assuming, of course, there are no other risks you haven't described.)

Good luck--- HHH, MD

The doctor mentioned this many times before.Forget about IgM, it's doesn't mean anything. Bottom line is you're Herpes free (both types).

Thanks for your quick response.  In response to my question # 5 you said that it is not possible to have a positive IGM and not have either HSV 1 or 2, but isn't that pretty much my case???  I just don't understand how the IGM can be a false positive if it is not due to a cross reaction and I don't have either HSV 1 or 2?
Thanks again.
