Ok to move fwd?

Thank you for such a great forum, from looking at all the posts I have my answer but want to post to Docs anyways to have 100%.

I had a casual encounter with women in my apartment building, she is about 23 im 19, nothing serious. we engaged brief unprotected oral. All was fine but this summer I met someone and we are now in a monogamous relationship. B/c I met the new gf and want to be safe and monogamous, I was tested for clamydia(chlamydia) (chlamydia) (chlamydia) (chlamydia) and ghonarrigha 19 days after the last exposure with friend. all was negative. The darn internet is so bad for research. they say to test in 4 weeks than again in 6 weeks or later. so i and concerned my tests won't be reliable and need to get retested.

I say this b/c 3 days ago i went to urinate and it burned a bit, I immediately go to I have an std! But logic kicks in and I say probably not. Now I think about being retested and now feel slight irritation after I urinate, almost a constant burn but very faint..

also to add to this, I had been treated with azithromycin, Clarithromycin (Biaxin), and Erythromycin
due to a skin infection on forehead this year.

I want to start having unprotected sex with my gf but scared to give her something. should I go get tested again or would it be a huge waste of time?

Welcome to the Forum. I'll be please to comment.  It's just remarkable how often the internet misleads persons.  This is an example.  The idea that testing for common STIs at 19 days would not be conclusive is silly.  By this time tests for gonorrhea, chlamydia, and NGU are conclusive and Herpes would have become apparent by this time as well if you had gotten it.  The only thing I can think of is that the site you visited might have been referring to syphilis or HIV, neither of which you have any meaningful risk for, at all.

The irritation you mention is not suggestive of any STI as the discomfort on urination associated with STIs is typically present as a person begins to urinate, tends to be progressive and is not intermittent. As you suggest, I suspect the sensation you mention is a reflection of your hyper vigilant state more than anything else.

Further, the azithromycin you have been taking would have cured most common STIs if you had gotten one, despite the fact that the dose you are taking is less than recommended for most STIs.

I see no reason for you to abstain further from unprotected sex with your new partner (presuming that she is negative and not at risk for pregnancy).

I hope this comment is helpful. EWH

Final answer.  You do not know that this is a wart.  If it is  you may have acquired it long ago.  If it happens to be a wart, you may have gotten it long ago.  Further since most sexually adults have been exposed to HPV, there is no way to know how long ago you could have acquired it.  EWH

well, I am still nervous about the bumps and think they could be warts. could this be something that pops up later in years? I read all your research but hard to pin down warts. dont want my significant other to think i cheated also. i have had only protected sex in last several months..

The exposure was also low risk for HPV/warts. More importantly however, just about everyone has HPV or will at some time in their lives. It is not something to worry about..

I will provide a link to a prior post by Dr. andsfield wich goes on to comment why we urge clients not to worry about HPV fromencounters such as the one you mntion- take a look:

thanks again for all help. One final inquiry before I move on. As I described above, what are chances of my activity for warts? since i have been so paronoid and wanting to rule out all std as I move fwd with my relationship, I have notice bumps on head of penis., cant see them unless I really look hard. but maybe there for a while but since i have been paranoid been watching my puvic area closer. what would you suggest my course of action be.

thanks again

I tend to agree with your assessment.  Although it is a bit outside of the realm of STIs, my advice would be for you to make a concious effort to stay hydrated.  This can be done by setting goals for how much water to take in each day and conciously following the volume you drink.  EWH

Thank you very much for the prompt answer. I agree, the burning has come sporadically at the beginning of urination a few times. As one goes thru the internet on sit issues, it seems to panic people as you can see from my case.

Thanks again and I will move on with my relationship.
