Oral STD?

I've recently started having sex with a new partner. Last week I gave him oral.  When I woke the next morning I had a sore throat. Today makes day 8 and my throat isn't really sore anymore it just feels irritated. I took a pen light and looked and I have a bit of redness close to my tonsils but my uvula looks normal. Also, I've been around my goddaughter who has been sick but I don't have any cold/other symptoms so I don't know. I know that STD's don't show up the morning after but I don't know what to think. He said that we was tested since his last encounter but of course people aren't always truthful. Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated

See a Dr if concerned it's not STD related.
