I have similar problem. Penis feels hot or cold and it's burning when i put water directly on it. It happens only on right side below gland on the inner part of foreskin. It looks red and irritated. There are no discharges or any kind of feelings when urinating. I'm going nuts about it.
My girlfriend was giving me a handjob about two days ago in the bathroom and decided to use Head and Shoulders shampoo as lubricant. About 3 hours afterward I got a large, lumpy, red spot on the front side of my testicles that was very irritable and rash like. There is a possiblity that I left some of the shampoo on my scrotum. I also ended up putting hand lotion later in the day to ease the burning. It was uncomfortable and burning again later that night. The next day all the swelling went down, but for the past day and a half the spot is a dark red color and feels like a scab on top. There is very little itching, but I am concerned at what I should do? Any ideas on what this might be? Can shampoo cause something like this? Need some answers if anyone has any? Thanks.
Soap, including shampoo, is very irritating inside the urethra. If the burning pain you describe is inside the penile opening, that is undoubtedly the cause. If you happen to be allergic to the shampoo, it might have caused external redness and irritation, but that is very unlikely. A fungal infection, similar to athlete's foot, might cause the problem as well, and would also cause an irritated rash on the scrotum.
Whatever is going on, none of your symptoms sounds like an STD. You might try one of the over-the-counter antifungal treatments for jock itch, which you'll find in the same pharmacy shelves as the treatments for athletes foot (e.g., Lamisil and other brands). If that doesn't clear it up, see a health care provider for proper diagnosis and advice.
