PLEASE HELP ME - DO I HAVE AN STD?

by HELPME21, Apr 12, 2007 12:00AM
please somebody help me.
i am a 19yrs old female in a relationship for the past 3years. last 6months i was raped but never told me bf.
lately ive noticed that both of us have been getting some symptoms. i'm not sure if they are related or im just freaking out.
it usually worsens after sex.
i have really bad abdominal pain it hurts sooo much. everything else seems fine though lately ive been going to urinate more frequently. i also get bad constipation sometimes. so i dunno if thats because of that?
my bf has sore testicles sometimes. it feels like theres cysts in there? maybe 2 - 5cm each? doctor thinks it a cyst?
he has really severe abdominal/stomach pain. the doctor found small traces of blood in his urine. but my bf didnt ask to be STD tested because we got one before we started dating and it was clear and we've both been loyal except when i was raped without a condom. i wont tell him because he stresses too much and already suffers from depression.

i am sooooooooo scared.
someone i beg you to help me.
does this sound like an STD?
its def not chlamedia because we've both had that before and been retested for only that.
I WOULD APPRECIATE ANY RESPONSE THANK U

Have you seen a doctor since the rape occurred? I would recommend a general check-up if you haven't had one yet. Tell them about the rape and about all of your current symptoms.

I would encourage you to discuss the rape with your boyfriend, since it appears to be impacting the relationship with him.  Anything that affects the relationship should be discussed openly.  Have you had an opportunity to discuss the rape with anyone? A trusted friend, a therapist, your  doctor? Anybody?  It might be helpful to you to get some feedback and support after what happened. Your doctor might be able to refer you to someone to talk to as well.

I would suggest at LEAST go get a regular checkup.  I understand not wanting to tell your bf, especially if you're unsure, but get checked out!  It doesn't look suspicious to your boyfriend because you should get checkups anyway, and if it's nothing, then you didn't spill the beans.  But even if you get tested and everything comes out negative, I think you should tell your boyfriend because there's still a chance he could have something.  I am really sorry about what happened.  Just try to handle it responsibly so it doesn't end up even worse.

Please see your Pcp and tell him about your assault.  He will know what to do.

DO NOT feel ashamed.  you did not deserve this.
