Paranoid

by bulldogs555, May 13, 2008 11:53AM
I had frequent urination and  little discomfort while urinating 7 days after I had protected sex with another woman.  I sucked it up went to the doc and they gave me a urine test (approx 9 days after above sex) doc said urine was "100% clear, no infections"  he gave dioxyclin antibiotic?  and said it maybe prostate infection and that my urine would be clear in a urine test so take antibiotics to see if this is the case.  im on day 7 of biotics and symptoms not as bad but still there.  Im paranoid I have an std, what do you think?  I mean he said my urine was clear but yet im still having painful (mild) urine sessions.  How accurate are the urine tests that time period after sex?  Thanks

Your tests are accurate, assuming you got tested for gonorrhea and chlamydia.  You need to find out if he did those tests, or just looked at your urine under a scope.

It would also help if you keep all your posts to one thread.  :)

not sure, all i know is i told them my symptoms, they said pee in a cup and came back 20 minutes later with "100% clear on my urine" take these antibiotics for 10 days.  would std not show up in that type of test?  are the chances low i contracted something from 1 time protected sex, but unprotected oral sex both received and given?

You need to call and ask what you were tested for.

That doesn't sound like an std test.  It sounds like they just looked for white blood cells.

Oral sex is low risk for stds.

And if you were all clear, why take the meds?  I think you need to get some more info from your doctor's office.

he thinks i have a prostate infection, but said the urine test would not show that.  gave me anitbiotics.  so oral sex is low and protected sex is also low for transmission right, talking real low? would i have to tell them to give me an std test, telling them my symptoms would not do that?  and an infection in your urine i guess is different than the infection from an std?

I would like to think that they would have given you an std test based on your symptoms, but not every one does, especially if you didn't tell them of your concern about stds.
