Penile groin rash?

Any help is greatly appreciated..
I've had a red skin rash for almost two weeks now. It began as a small rash on the inner groin, around where my scrotum meets my legs, and looked like a pattern of small blisters or pimple-like things. The rash began spreading and has gotten a lot bigger all over my groin after the first week. Where the rash began is now mostly just red and the blister/pimple looking area has moved outwards. The rash is now spread all over underneath my scrotum and across the lower area of my groin. In the beginning, it was just itchy... but now it's kind of sore. The rash part is still itchy.

I work out almost daily, but always shower afterwards, leading me to believe it's not jock itch. I have been using Gold Bond daily, and have just recently started using Caladryl... neither of which have seemed to help.

I am sexually active. My girlfriend has recently had a yeast infection, and we remained sexually active during the course of that. She has no other STD's, which makes me think that's the only possibility. I don't know what to expect of a male yeast infection, or how to go about treatment.

I also have to cold sores in the corners of my mouth, possibly a fungus... I don't know if the rash could potentially be a fungus as well and require an anti-fungal cream.

Thanks again.

Sounds like Jock Itch. Tinea Cruris. It's a fungal infection and is mildly contagious, but is easy to treat with an anti-fungal cream or oral medication. Ketoconazole is a powerful synthetic anti-fungal medication that should take care of the problem relatively quickly. I had a Tinea Versicolor rash across my shoulders chest and back and was given a bottle of 7 pills to take, one every day, for a week. The symptoms cleared up within a couple days, but it's important to take the medication for the full extent of the prescription as the infection itself may not fully be eliminated in a couple days.

It's a pretty common condition and if you would like some comparison photos you can probably just go to google images and search Tinea Cruris. Good luck.
