Lastnight my husband and I had a sexual encounter.  We did not sex I gave him oral as he did for me but as I was finishing with him he was touching me guite roughly down there.  Actually he was rubbing guite hard.  This morning I woke up with irritated skin down there.  I looked with a mirror and it appeared that the skin looked rubbed off.  It really doesn't hurt to the touch.  But it has me worried.  I also have a couple of pin size pimples in the pubic hair area.  My husband and I did break up for a little bit and I had a realtionship with someone else.  Now that I am back with him I am so scared that I have something I have stressed out to the point where I have missed my monthly periods.  My doc says I would now by now since it has been almost six months but there is so much info on the internet that I am so scared.  To this date my husband has not shown any symptom of anything.  That is good right?  Please help!

No STD can cause skin breakdown or pain only a few hours after exposure; I suspect the erosion is exactly as you describe, the result of (over)vigorous rubbing.

Pimples in the pubic area probably are not an STD.  For example, herpes generally occurs on the labia, not in the pubic area.  Most likely you have just what it seems, pimples or folliculitis (hair follicle infection).

I agree with your doctor; you probably don't have any STD.  The fact that your husband hasn't noticed anything isn't proof, but it increases the odds in your favor.

Good luck--  HHH, MD

Sorry doc here is somemore info:

The irritated spot is on the of my vagina it is located on the fold of skin where the pubic hair and outer lip of the vagina starts.  the pimples are also in the same area.  I put antibitic (antibiotic) cream on it it didn't hurt or sting it almsot looks better as the morning has progressed and for the pimples the are very small only two of them are pink and the others are skin toned.  They aren't clustered and don't hurt the touch  the pimple are hardly raised also.

I was wondering could this be my first herpes outbreak?  By my symptoms

As in my original response, I still don't think you have herpes.  But if you want to be even more certain, ask your doctor for a blood test.  It has to be the right kind; make sure your doctor orders the HerpeSelect HSV-2 test.  (See several other posts and my responses about testing for herpes.)

Another thought:  I didn't pick up on this in your first message, but you seem to be implying that the pimples have been there for a while.  A true pimple will resolve in a week of so.  If these are pink and smooth, or if some of them have a dimple in the center, it could be molluscum contagiosum, which can appear in the pubic area.  Molluscum is sexually acquired.  It is a trivial, never dangerous condition.  I suggest having your doctor recheck, with this diagnosis in mind, if the lesions have persisted more than 2 weeks--or maybe see a dermatologist.

Good luck again--  HHH, MD
