Positive 3.49 for HSV 2 IgG test. Negative for HSV 2 IgM

by southern1960, Oct 20, 2009 05:25PM
After reading all of the posts and searching the internet, I am still so confused.  I have never had any symptoms of herpes...have not had any issues, i.e. urinary tract, etc.  Found out my husband may have been fooling around, and went to the Doc to be tested.

Was shocked when she told me I had genital herpes.  After receiving that news, I have tried to research all the testing, etc.

Is is possible that my positive 3.49 on the HSV 2 IgG test, was a "false" positive?  I have read that if it is under 3.50 that it is possible that I am actually negative.  I have seen posts regarding 2 other tests...Biokit and Western Blot.  Should have these tests ran, and if they are negative, I am safe in knowing that I do not have herpes?

Thanks so much for the help....
