Positive TPPA

I recently had RPR testing that showed 1:1 titer. TP-PA was positive. Do I need to be treated for syphilis. I have no symptoms or chancre

Hi there -

While Vance is most likely correct, if you can't remember ever getting treatment, you might talk to your doctor about treating just in case.  If you want, maybe even retest to see what the RPR gives on a second result, as it is really low.

That is a very low number...probably indicates old infection that was treated or even a false positive. Normally an ongoing infection you will see a much higher number.

What has your Dr said about the test?
