Possibility of STD/HIV Transmission ?

Hello Doc,

Over the last 8 months I have a had a couple of harmless ( at least thats what I would like to think) encounters. The first one was with a girl whom I met on a website. We met for dinner, and came back home and we kissed each other a lot
( lots of deep kissing with the toungue was invovled and i also sucked her breasts ) and ended up dry humping her. I had my boxer shorts on and she had her thongs on. I might have touched her private parts with mine in the heat of the moment but not sure. we never had intercourse or oral sex. However before this encounter I had flossed my teeth and noticed a little bit of bleeding and I met this person after a few hours. My second incident happened on a flight and I happened to have a woman next to me. We ended up having some fun and she gave me a hand job and also sucked my penis 2 times.Even in this indident I did not have intercourse and did not even kiss her.

Now considering these two encounters with total strangers is there any possibility of having contracted from any STDs/HIV or any other diseses from either of them through either kissing (which involved very deep kissing using the tounge), getting a ******** and a hand job. I am worried becuase I am now dating a girl and although we have not had sex until now, I would like to be safe. I am primarliy worried becuase before my first encounter I noticed a little bit of bleeding while flossing and in my second encounter because of the ******** i received. Should I get myslef tested for any STD's  and HIV. Is any kind of testing necessary or can I safely assume that I am free of any kind of STD's/HIV and continue with my current relationship with out any worry ?

P.S: I have never had any other previous sexual encounters before.

Without symptoms, and given the exceedingly low risk, no testing is recommended.  But if you feel you need to do something symbolic, have a urine gonorrhea test.

Hello Doc,

Thanks for clarifying this. But since you mentioned about the possible risk of transmission with oral sex, what are the tests that I might need to consider. I want to be better safe than sorry.  Hoping for you reply.

Welcome back to the forum.

You are correct that the encounters you describe were entirely risk free. Further, you seem to be asking about the same events as in your previous questions on the forum.  Repeatedly asking the same question won't result in a different answer!

The basic fact about STD transmission is that it generally requires a bare penis (no condom) entering another person's vagina, rectum or mouth.  Genital apposition -- e.g. direct penile contact with the vaginal area, without penetration -- sometimes carries risk for those STDs transmitted by skin-to-skin contact (herpes, HPV, syphilis), but even this very rare.  The following thread goes into detail about the biological reasons STDs are not transmitted by other kinds of contact, including kissing:  http://www.medhelp.org/posts/show/1861534.

The only activity you mention that carried any risk at all was the brief oral contact with your penis -- and given how brief it was, I also consider that exposure to be zero risk for all practical purposes.  Kissing is risk free, even in the presence of blood, e.g. from inflamed gums.

Therefore, based on the exposures you have described, you do not need to be tested for any STD and can safely continue unprotected sex with your regular partner without fear of transmitting any infection.
