Possible Genital Warts?

Ok so a year ago i made the mistake of sleeping with someone unprotected, since then i have been tested for everything, with nothing but good news, up till 5 days ago i was starting to find closier. Well i woke up on wed. and discovered a red spot on the base of my penis right where the base meets the scrotum. I thought this was nothin more than a ingrown hair since i have had this before, so i decided to pop it, and somce clear fluid came out, which happens to most of my ingrown hairs. Well the next morning the bump had a scab on it and was very dry. The redness has not faded from it as well. I decided to stop picking at the site and just have been adding lotion for the dryness. Today is like day 5 and the site is still red which worries me ALOT. I have read online that a red bump is a sign of a genital wart, but the site has not changed much in the last couple days.. Now im not to sure if the redness wasnt brought on from me popping and rubbing the site. I am very worried, is there a certain amount of time one should wait for this to clear up before they know its something that is permanent, and then go get it checked out. I might also add i have no pain from the site, and when i put a pen light to it, the area looks smooth and does not show any signs of a bump or imflamation. Currently the site has a shiney coat over it, which makes me think its trying to heal.. any info would be appreciated

this is my first pregnacy and i went in for a pap and the test came back that i had chlamydia, i got antibiotic for it. i also had group b strep and got treatment for that. since then i have not had sex with anyone and everything was clear. i think now i have a yeast infection. im very itchy and irratted. i soon developed some bumps down there on the lips and near the anal area. the bumps are skin color and i tried to pop or scrap them off and they just hurt and bleed. one of them actually came off at one point after i went to the bathroom and wiped. could the bumps be part of the yeast infection? i am worried becuse if they were an std then my pap would have seen it right? i also got a call from my dr and i have to go in for a level two sono cuz my blood test came back for a red flag that my baby might have edwards syndrome. were she has an extra chromosome and will be mentally handicapp. i am really worried my next appt isnt til the 21 of august. can some one please give me some feed back on this. thankx

I recently noticed two things on my labia: a small, flat raised spot that looks like a freckle (I'm African-American with a sort of fair complexion, and I have numerous freckles/moles/"beauty marks" on my body and face), and a very small flesh-colored bump (i.e. unless you're me, who regularly inspects that area, or a doctor I specifically told to look at it, you wouldn't notice it - if I had pubic hair, I definitely wouldn't have seen it).  The bump is sort of at the top of my vulva where the two lips meet.  Two things to note: I shaved off my pubic hair twice, the last time about a week ago, and I had unprotected sex with my ex-boyfriend about ten days ago.  We have had unprotected sex before (we were together two and a half years) and all my STD tests and Pap smears have been normal.  No itching, burning during urination, or irritation (except a little redness around the bikini line from the shaving).  I'm a regular blood donor and have never had a problem with my blood.  So is it possible that the freckle and bump are HPV symptoms?  Should I be concerned?

Warts don't appear as red bumps of this sort, and generally don't show up a year after exposure.  Sounds like another pimple or folliculitis (hair follicle infection, including ingrown hair).  No matter what the cause, a reddened appearance during healing is normal.  Visit a health care provider if you remain concerned, but clearly this isn't a wart or any other STD.

Good luck--  HHH, MD
