Possible Herpes Infection
I am a male that was dating a woman who was tested positive for genital HSV-2 by a swab test in late June/early July. She is not taking any antiviral medication or anything like lysine. We had protected intercourse for about 5-10 min on 08/26/2013. On 10/30/2013 we engaged in genital rubbing (unclothed, but no intercourse). On 11/3/2013 we engaged in genital rubbing with her having panties on. Through out this time she performed oral sex on me, but I only stimulated her with my fingers. I made sure I did not have any cuts on my hands any time I did this, and I probably did this about 10-15 times. Sometime in October or November I had flu like symptoms. This included temperature (102 degrees), chills/sweats, and leg pains (only on the first night). This lasted for about 3-4 days, without any noticable genital symptoms. Around the week of 12/7/2013 I had dry flakey skin right bellow the head of my penis and I recieved a handjob (started without lubrication then used lotion) that week too. During this week I had been doing a lot of walking and felt like I was chaffing. I noticed about 3-4 small tears in the skin right bellow the head of my penis, where the dry skin was. I had put neosporin on it and it seemed to clear up in about 3 days (unlike herpes). On 12/30/2013 I itched my buttocks and noticed a single small (size of eraser head) bump that I scratched and caused to bleed slightly. The bump scabbed over, but has a cratter like resemplence. It is red, does not itch, but is slightly irritating since I have agrivated it.
I have been blood tested on 09/19/2013 the results for the type specific IGG were HSV-2 0.1.
I have been retested on 12/16/2013 the results for the type specific IGG test were HSV-1 <0.1 & HSV-2 <0.1
What is the likelyhood that I have contracted herpes and it did not show up on the IGG type specific tests?
Should I get retested? Or should I move on from this and not worry about it? Should I tell future partner I have been exposed?

I went to get the bump on my buttocks evaluated by my doctor and he believed it to be Foliculitis, like you said. I was prescribed antibiotics for it. It has stopped with the irritation, but is still slight red and a bump remains there. I was also btyoe specific blooded tested again to help clear my mind of the subject on 01/10/2014. The results were HSV 2 >0.1. Before that, I had resently fallen and hurt my tailbone on 01/07/14. This made it slightly painful to sit for about 10 days. On 01/16/2014 I started to notice a slight burning sensation in my left buttocks (same side as the possible folliculitis) that would some times be felt in my leftthigh, shin, and foot. This has been going off and on since then. It has been about 6 days of this. It is more of an annoyance than a pain, but I am worried that it may be herpes related. I have noticed other bumps on my buttocks, 2 are on hair follicles and one I can not tell. The 2 that are on hair follicles are on a pre existing scratch on my buttocks. The other bump is not. I have been trying to convince myself that it may be caused by anxiety, over analyzing this, or may be pre existing injury, but the burning feeling seems to be too "real" to make up and only happens in short 10-30 second spurts throughout the day.
Do you think this could be Herpes related in any way?
Could I have aggravated my sciatic nerve and then felt resulting nerve damage about 7 days later from trauma?
Also, I do randomly feel a burning sensation in my left arm, but it is much less annoying and I can attribute that to anxiety. As I know herpetic whitlow is rare and I can evaluate my hand easier than my buttocks and have seen no changes.
Please advise me on my situation. If I need to start another question I will do that too, but I was wanting to wait until I saw my doctor again in 3 weeks since I am out of town.

These are not realistic concerns. You do not have HSV, she does. With appropriate precautions you are unlikely to get HSV. Genital HSV infections do not lead to PHN and herpetic urethritis is rare and occurs primarily with first episodes of infection. I would not be worried. EWH

Also, if I choose to rekindle the relationship with this woman, should Herpetic Urethritis or Any sort of PHN be of any concern. Are either if these realistic concerns? I have read that Herpetic Urethritis can be intensely painful. Is there anyway to avoid that other than refrain fro contact?

Chaffing could certainly account for the cuts you noted on the penis however to know what is going on you need to be examined while lesions are present. This is not something that can be done over the Internet. Similarly, the lesion on your rear end may well be folliculitis (an infection of hair follicles) but again, that is not a diagnosis that can be made without examining you. EWH

Welcome to the Forum. The short answer is to not worry about these exposures and to move on without concern.
As I see it, you had a variety of low risk exposures )i.e. condom protected or non-penetrative sex, masturbation, receipt of oral sex) from a partner who happened to know she had genital herpes. Perhaps because of several atypical (for herpes) lesions or irritations in the ano-genital region, you had HSV antibody testing which was negative. In this situation, there is no evidence that you acquired HSV and pretty good evidence (the negative antibody tests) that you did not.
Lots of people are unknowingly exposed to partners with herpes- you happen to know it (about this partner. I would not worry further, would not test more and would go forward without concern. I hope this perspective is helpful. EWH
