Possible STD

Hello Doc,

I recently had unprotected oral sex with a guy who i know have other sexual partners. While performing oral sex he had got a little pre cum on his penis and this fluid got in my mouth. What i would like to find out am I at risks of any sexually transmitted disease based on this fact. Also since then i have a throat ache dont kno if this could possibly be throat gonorrhea or HPV. Please help me to at least be able to make the next move to go get tested.

Too early, wait 5-7 days from the encounter for the throat swab, other tests...syphilis-6 weeks and herpes is 3-4 months.

Being the risk is low the choice is up to you to test, the Dr's on this site see no medical reason to test from a one time episode but do recommend testing for all STD's including HIV every 6 months to 1 year.

If you do want to get tested from this episode then you would need a throat swab to test for gonorrhea.

You had a low risk for gonorrhea, herpes, syphilis and HPV. Gonorrhea would be the most common. Herpes is possible but very low risk and without any sores even lower risk. Syphilis also possible but again very low risk and without a sore on his penis no risk and HPV again very low risk and without and bumps on him...no risk.
