This is my firstFirst progesterone mc10 First progesterone mc5 First-progesterone vgs 100 First-progesterone vgs 200 First-progesterone vgs 25 First-progesterone vgs 400 First-progesterone vgs 50 First-testosterone First-testosterone mc time posting on here and I hope someone out there can relate or atleast share their views. As for background information i am a 24 year old male and have only been in 2 serious, monogomous relationships. During the summerSummers eve anti-itch i cutCuts and puncture wounds myself while shaving my pubicPubic lice area, more specifically where the penisCancer - penis Curvature of the penis Penis care (uncircumcised) Penis pain meets the rest of my body. The skin there is fairly loose, hence why i cutCuts and puncture wounds it by accident. However after a couple weeks, or possibly the next time i shaved it, i notice that it healed into a growth. I'm not saying a bump because i have those white follicile bumps that can be popped at times. I didn't think much of the growth because i thought it was just the way the cut healed in such an awkward place, and to be honest i may have cut it several times. Anyways, it wasn't untill recently when i thought i should get it checked because i could be entering a new relationship. Also i need to mention, i havent had sexual intercourse for 9 months, but i noticed this growth after 4-5months. Since then it hasnt grown or really gone away. It's fairly small, maybe twice the size of a BIC pen, the writting end. Anyways... i went to the STD clinic to get it checked. The doctor took a very quick look and was convinced it was Genital Warts/HPV. He seemed like a very rushed person and i felt soooo uneasy about him that I immediately went to my doctors office to get checked, fortunately it was during the same day. Also i should mention that I had shaved my pubic area the day before, also cutting the same area. This other doctor took a more thorough look and said he thinks its Genital Warts however he did a biopsy, basically cutting a small piece off and sending it into the lab. He said the growth was too small to clearly define it as GW. I'm currently waiting for those results, possibly the worst couple weeks of my life! Anyways, as you can imagine, i've been doing alot of reading and research online and constantly looking at this growth. It's been almost a week now since i last shaved and i've noticed that their is hair growing out of the growth. I wouldn't say dead center of it, but deffinetly from it. There is also some really small hair in the area that look like their inflammed. Not white or *****, just skin bairly raised above the service. Keep in mind i really have to move my fingers and manipulate the skin to see these.
My questions:
Can hair grown threw or in GW?
Does it sound like GW? What else could it be?
How Definitive is a biopsy? I'm concerned beacuse any growth that can be cut from the skin would (in my mind) be defined as a wart making the biopsy of a growth pointless... hence what else could it be?
Could it be just the way the skin healed?
1) Don't know
2) no it doesn't sound like it due to the length of time you have it and the circumstance in which it appeared
3) Only way to test for it in men is with a biopsy
4) Yes it could be from the healing, maybe it also got infected when healing?
Thanks for your feedback. Does anyone else have any similar scenarios or a time when the doctor thought it was warts but a biopsy proved them wrong? Any Dr's have any advice?
There is a forum dedicated to HPV. I understand why you are concerned but you are making a mountain out of a mole hill.
Every person has been exposed to HPV at least once in their sexual life time. Many are fortunate enough to not actually get warts. The warts are nothing but a nuisance. They are not going to kill you. And they usually clear themselves up within a couple of years and you never see them again. If it bothers you that much, why don't you discuss possibly removing the growth. Then you will be done with it and you can move on. Also make sure you inform any future partners of the possibility of you having HPV because even though you may not have a visible wart, You may still be able to pass it along. And there are cancerous forms of HPV that is dangerous to women (these do not form visible warts) Please post any further concerns in the HPV Community.
I am not a doc but I don't think it sounds like genital warts. It sounds like an inflamed hair follicle (hence why the hair grew through it). Also, they will probably test the biopsy for HPV so it will be able to tell you if it is genital warts or not.
And stop shaving! Seriously, why do people shave down there, especially guys? It just creates all these problems. Ingrown hairs. Itching when it grows back. Leave a good thing alone. Sorry about my rant :) I just wish bush would make a comeback.
Aren't inflamed hair follicle usually red and white? This is skin colored, fleshy.
Also, as for the biopsy. Are they able to tell which HPV strain? I have warts or skin tags on the rest of my body. Nothing severe or anything i thought i should take care of, for example on the front of my shoulder. Since they took a skin biopsy near my pubic area, and if it shows up with HPV they'll safely assume its GW? However what if its a different HPV strain that my body could already have from the other warts?
As for the big hype of HPV and GW, i can understand where your coming from. I understand that everyone will eventually come in contact with it. It's the "knowing" that you do have it, which is freightening. It'll be extremely difficult to tell someone about the GW, but my mind is settled once i know that they may already have it or have atleast HPV. I am very confident that my immune system is top notch and that I can battle this. It's just not exactly a confidence booster as i'm already a naturally nervous person.
I just wanted to express my current feelings. I just got back from my doctor to find out my test results from my Biopsy. The results came back negative! I do not have Genital Warts! I'm not writing at this time to boast but rather to tell people to get properly tested! I first started at the STD clinic. A doctor with 30 years experience was convinced it was warts, but he was dead wrong! Even my family doctor was 98% convinced it was warts but he decided to do a biopsy anyways. Thank goodness! This goes to show, get second opinions and get properly tested! Do i feel relieved? To tell the truth, only slightly. I've learnt alot about the possibilities of STD's and the implications it can have on your life. The last couple weeks have been awful! I've always been a safe guy, i dont sleep around, but let me tell you..... I am going to be MUCH wiser! You only live once and to have your life altered by any disease that can be avoided, would be awful. For those that are currently living with any disease, my heart goes out to you! Stay Optimistic and know that life is great and not to let any disease define you and your life!
Also another tip, as for the hair. If there is hair growing through a growth, it is another sign that it may not be a wart. I had shaven the day before going to the STD doctor and no hairs were growing from the growth, hence why he probably diagnosed it as GW. My family doctor mentioned, had he seen the hair he would have been more opposed to the GW diagnoses, but not necessarily 100%. As for what I currently have, to tell you the truth, i forget what the doctor said (i'm an idiot), i was just so shocked.
Another tip, the internet is a great source for information, but at some point you have to pull yourself away from it, as it can cause you more mental strain. Rely on your doctor, or doctors.
