Protected sex, first time, very nervous!

Hello! Last week I had my first time intercourse with a sex worker... we used a condom (I used it) for oral and vaginal sex which did not last too much. The condom worked fine, I held it in my hand after intercourse and my semen was still at its tip. No breakage, no leaks, no minuscule holes because they don't exist!

But... I've been having a lot of anxiety and regret over this incident all the past week, and yesterday to make things worse I started feeling a liiiiittle pressure on the tip of my penis, and going to the bathroom with urge to pee very frequently. Now i'm TERRIFIED... if the condom was used properly, could this be Chlamydia?? And if so, I'm horribly scared that HIV might have "hopped" in it and infected me!

Please, help me calm down and take this as it was: a PROTECTED SEX INCIDENT WITH NO BREAKAGE! Thanks!

So it is entirely possible to have a small discomfort in the urethra occasionally just because of anxiety?? I have never experienced such thing, and this is the reason I kept posting... I have seen no kind of discharge nor burning or itching when or after urinating, just frequent urination and that small feeling; again, can anxiety do this?? It's amazing if it can! Thank you so much for your answers!

WHY DO YOU KEEP POSTING?  We told you that you were not at risk for STDs because you used a condom.  We understand the condom never broke, that is why we keep telling you that you were not at risk for STDs.  You need to calm your anxiety, and all your symptoms will go away.

Again, condom NEVER broke nor slipped (it couldnt or else when I pulled out it would not have been there right? it was still on my penis when I pulled out) Now, I have no risk for HIV since the condom did its job... according to you, extremely low for gono or chlamydia, but then what is this feeling in my urethra since about 6 days post exposure?? I have noticed no discharge at all, just frequent urination (specially a few days ago) and this strange feeling of pressure in the penis. I am going crazy with this, I know I had full protected sex and that condom never worked, which is why I'm so anxious about the incident. Please answer!

I repeat that the condom was not broken after sex, I held it in my own hand and threw it away and it was complete and holding my semen.

I know anxiety plays a lot of tricks on you... I still occasionally get the pressure on my penis, but I haven't had any burning sensations or discharge... could this be totally unrelated to my experience? Are there cases of Chlamydia contracted even with the use of a latex condom? I'm nervous, please help!

Yeah you shouldn't be having any symptoms, but anxiey can definatley be whats causing them. Anxiety gave me all symptoms of HIV, and the more I read about symptoms the worse it got. My experience with Chlamydia involved a thick yellow discharge, and burning when I urinated, that is all that it did to me. I took a dose (4 pills at once) Of Zithromax, and it cleared right up. I'm currently worried abotu herpes because of this little red mark that has'nt gone away in 3 weeks now. I'm having a lot of anxiety over it. I believe the more you focus on worry over std's, the more you believe you have them and the more real the symptoms become. Definatley get a urine test just in case though to relieve you anxiety.

Thanks toomanyideas, I know anxiety can do a lot of things. And since I've been feeling strange (though very subtle) pressure in the tip of my penis, I thought it could be Chlamydia. I know this one is completely treatable, but since I used a condom and it DID NOT BREAK OR SLIP, I should not be having any symptoms. This is was worries me!

I'm not in the field or anything, but I constantly read up on STD information, and I've called a few nurses for information when I post replies. You should have absolutley no worry for HIV at all. You were protected. Even with unprotected sex with someone who is HIV +, the approximate chances for one single encounter is pretty low too.  I have had unprotected sex before, I thought I had HIV, but my 3 month test proved otherwise. I had all the symptoms of HIV infection, but they went away after my negative result. Anxiety can do weird things.

Also, and this is just for anxiety relief: there is no way the condom could slip and return to my penis right? I mean, when I withdrew, everything was in the same place it was when I inserted... I just have these lots of "what ifs" going around because of this small urinating problem yesterday. I used a condom for oral and vaginal, there should not be any risk involved, right?

Thanks a lot guys! I am very nervous regarding this incident and I had this little uncomfortable feeling in the tip of my penis and urinating often, so I thought it could have been Chlamydia. I even took a few Ampicillins just in case. I will never have sex with a sex worker ever again, it is really not worth it.

Like I tell you, the condom did its job (when it breaks or slips, I'd have known right? I took it out and it was still on my penis, quite tight) so I should not worry about Chlamydia at all and even less for HIV? Do you know if anxiety causes this urination urges perhaps?? Thanks a lot again for your help... and other question, are you guys "in the field"? I mean do you work in healthcare or something to back up your statements? THANKS!!!

NO RISK!  You used a condom.  The only concern might be herpes, syphilis, and/or genital warts, which are not usually caught by a one time encounter, but possible.  As for chlamydia, gonorrhea, and HIV, you shouldn't be concerned.  Anxiety will cause you to have every symptoms in the book, so don't let your symptoms drive you crazy.  But in general, it's probably a good idea to avoid sex workers.  Most people don't realize the level of anxiety they can create for themselves until they engage in stuff like this.

There is no way you would have contracted HIV through this transmission, and with a condom used properly you wouldnt have gotten Chlamydia. Even if the condom rolled up a bit, I'm sure you can't catch Chlamydia through the shaft. If I were you, I wouldnt worry at all. I have the same symptoms as you every once in a while, and I believe it's to due with anxiety.
