Proxacin 500 ciprofloxacin | STD - Gonorrhea, chlamydia

Hi,

I am on medication for other reasons and doctor prescribed "Proxacin 500 ciprofloxacin" twice a day for 14 days. I investigated about the drug and found that it also cures for gonorrhea and chlamydia spp, urinary tract infections and so many other infections

I was tested for chlamydia trachomatis PCR 2 days after unprotected oral sex and was negative. I am on third week after exposure and no symptoms - no discharge, no pain or burning sensation while/after urinating

What does chlamydia spp means?
are chlamydia trachomatis and chlamydia spp same?
Should I get tested for chlamydia and gonorrhea after the medication?

Please advice

Hi, ask your doctor. We cant advise meds on this site. But i will say if you tested negative for chlamydia after 5 days post exposure you dont have chlamydia. If you think you have Gono have a test for that as well.
