Question about herpes!!

Before I got with my new girlfriend I knew that she had herpes.  After a couple of months of being with her I ended up sleeping with a russian girl and she was persistant on having sex without a condom.  I ended up giving in because she was so hot!!  Anyway, a couple of months later I had all of the symptoms of hiv.  I tested at 2,4 and 6 months for hiv and everything came back negative.  If had mouth ulsers, I feel drained all the time, my stomach cramps and makes noises all the time, my lymph nodes under my armpits feel swollen on and off.  I also feel tingling and prickling on my arms, back and other places sometimes.  My question is can herpes cause you to have these types of symptoms in some people or are most of these symptoms because I was stressed out for about 6 months thinking I had hiv along with herpes?  If anyone reading this has herpes, what symptoms have you had besides the regular bumps on your area?

Ya, herpes does all kinds of weird unexplainable stuff and it is so different person to person.

Hi Platinum01,

First off hot girl < life.  In other words, dont gamble like that with your future health.  I am sure you know this as the guilt/worrying you are experiencing is likely a result of your current state of mind.

With that said, the initial Herpes outbreak could cause some of the symptoms you described but the fact that you have some of these symptoms "on and off" would further indicate that you are most likely just stressed.

I have been where you are doing the same online searches trying to figure out the odds that I have HIV and how all of my symptoms must indicate HIV or another STD.

You are probably more likely to get struck by lightening than to have gotten both HIV and Herpes from one sexual encounter.  

It has been six months right?  Go get a Herpes Type Specific for both I and II.

There is a 0% chance you have HIV btw.

Herpes can cause severe pain, itching, back pain etcetera.

It was just kind of weird that 2 months after I was with that girl, I got a viral infection/upper respitory infection.  I got herpes from my new girl friend and I thought that I got hiv from the russian girl.  Then I keep thinking that the russian girl was only in america for 2 months and she also had her permanant residency card.  I know she had to of gotton checked!  I have had a horrible time with my symptoms.  Thank you for your imput.  The more comments the better because I have been fighting this for feels like a lifetime.  Also I have had a few episodes of night sweats on my chest and I thought that it was just anxiety but my girlfriend who is not even concerned about anything said that she feels hotter that usual at night and one night she had a mild case of night sweats on her chest.  What else could this be!!!  When will this end!! thanks everyone!

So vague and hard to say, really. Go get a blood test and then you will know for sure. Herpes select test or the western blot test. Good luck and let us know how it goes.

If you do oral sex without protection does that mean you have herpes no matter what, If the other person has Hepes ???

Just as an FYI, having herpes, especially an outbreak, increases your chances of catching HIV...that being said, I do not think you caught HIV from the Russian girl.  I don't understand how people have unprotected sex with strangers.  Your reasoning was "I gave in because she was so hot?"  So you risked your life for 2 minutes of pleasure...all while you have a g/f at home.  I hope you didn't catch anything for your g/f's sake.  I agree that you should get a full-panel STD test.
