Rash developed yesterday, asking for guidance

Hello Dr.H, much appreciation to you and your colleagues for taking time from your schedules to help us frantic evil doers.

I will try to keep my question to the point, as I have read many similar posts and agree that paranoia often gets the best of us, as many of us have much to lose given the ramifications of bad decisions while intoxicated.

Scenario is the same as many you have read.  Bachelor party with private dance from a stripper.  No genital to genital contact (she kept her bottoms on the whole time), no oral sex.  Did kiss mouth to mouth, she did perform masturbation on me, but I finished myself off while she watched.

Has been about 6 days since episode, no discharge or discomfort noted except for rash noted yesterday at the crease between my right leg and my pelvis.  Started as a couple of small reddish "tears" and seems to have spread up to above my pelvic bone.  Saw doc at urgent care (who was from Vegas and claimed to have "seen it all").  Said it was not herpes, but did a swab for me anyways.  Said it looked like a staph infection, but I suspect I may have terribly irritated my skin with all of the close inspections.

Question is this: If herpes was present, and in fact transmitted, it would show up only at the point of infection, correct?  She had her hands all over me down there, but 99% ceratin she never got as low as the place I am describing.  If I were to contract the disease, I also assume that an outbreak would be painful (if this were one), and not just a visually red looking rash with no pain or itching or buring.  It looks like a bunch of scratches, no blisters or puss.

Would like to get well past this, but very paranoid about what I did (even though no actual intercourse or oral occured).

Sorry, did not mean to offend just thought a little humour might ease your worries a little. At the end of the day you have absolutely nothing to worry about with the event you describe.

Glad to see that some people don't have anything better to do than to poke fun at others.  Thanks for the great post.  Very helpful.

Good grief.  You were never in a "situation".  You had the safest of safe sex.

Many thanks for the quick reply.  I agree that many folks (including myself) put ourselves through lots of stress over things that just have very little probability of occurence, but given what's at stake - not surprising that many of us freak out.

It would have been much better to have never been in the situation to begin with, but sometimes we just fail to make the right choices.  Alcohol doesn't help.  At the end of the day, we just want to be sure our poor judgement doesn't hurt the ones we love.

Thanks for the time.

Paranoid. You could do that every day for the rest of your life and never get an STD........and if there was such as place as "handjob heaven" you could not catch an STD there even.

You can go through all the tortuous scenarious your brain can dream up, but the bottom line is that your concerns are definitely neurotic, not realistic.  There is no risk.  And yes, herpes only shows up at the point of contact.

No follow-up comments or questions, please.  There is no information you can add that has any chance of changing my opinion or my advice.
