Red/purple urethra

Hey Doctors,

I did a bad mistake and had unprotected sex few days ago, right after I felt a tingling filling on the tip of my penis, it not painful and it doesn’t hurt when urinating. The morning after I decided to look more into it, I noticed a red/purple spot on the inside of my urethra, it looks like it a burst blood vessel,  it feels more like a cut with kind of an itching feeling. Now symptoms were right after I was done having sex, and I’m sure if I looked more into it I would have found red/purple spot that night.

Do u things that it’s just a burst blood vessel or some kind of irradiation? Or is it some kind of an STD symptom???

Thanks

No STD is going to result in symptoms immediately after sex, it's a minimum of 2 days after exposure for something like gonorrhea or HSV and longer for other types of infections.

That said, if you are having unprotected sex with people you aren't in a committed relationship with, it's not a bad idea to get tested periodically so you could take the time to do that now.
