Red scrotum

by Lakshya, Aug 20, 2008 09:37AM
Dear Doc,

More than four weeks ago, my scrotum became shiny red with white spots at the pubic hair joints. I also had burning sensation in my underarms with no visible sign. I showed myself to a doctor and I was diagnosed with eczema. Then almost a week later I also developed burning sensation on my inner thighs with my skin becoming slightly dark with small spots at the hair joints. I was given Hydrocortisoni cream for this.

But the condition persisted for another two weeks and then I went to a GP again and I was recommended to use Clovate cream. I have been using this for almost two weeks now but my condition is still persisiting. Now I also get occasional burning sensation on my scrotum while the burning sensation is also there on my inner thighs and also underarms.

I had protected sex with commercial sex workers around 9 and 12 weeks ago.

Could some advise what could my condition be? Could it be Herpes or warts ? I am really worried. Could I understake any sort of test to diagnose myself. Please reply at the earliest

It really sounds as if it could be eczema.  I'm not sure why you are doubting this.

Its not herpes - its lasting too long, and warts wouldn't give you the burning sensation.

Thanks Aj.

Another problem is that I have developed small white spots on my anal area just below where my scrotum ends, which hurt a little when I sit down. These are not blisters for sure and there is no itching or anything else.

Moreover, the skin on my penis shaft seems to be wrinkled a lot.

Could you advise ... I will also get my test results for all sorts of STDs and HIV in a week's time

I don't know what you have, but you should show these bumps to your doctor.  They might be related to the eczema, but you should follow up about it.
