Red spots on upper thigh

I have had two red spots on my upper thigh (one on the left one on the right, they are about two to three inches from my genital area). They have been there for about two months. There is no pain or itch to them, they are just very unsightly more then anything and I'm not sure if they are contagious.  I have tried lotions, but to no avail.  I have touched them and have not had any other red spots on my hands or anywhere else.  Can you give me some idea on what this is?

ok good because i was really worried about it and didn't want to start spreading anything, but I will make an appointment with my dermatologist. Thanks a lot.

red spots for several months probably are not std related.  follow up on them with your provider or a dermatologist.
