Redness in the perineum

I have had for the last 3 1/2 weeks some redness in my perineum.  It is almost a perfect red line from my scrotum to where my butt cheeks are.  It is small, but it is irritated like crazy, I see absolutely no bumps, I have seen a dermatologist and he says it is just a rash, gave me protopic and told me to use it for 7 days.  I will admit, it feels better after 2 days of use but it is still red.

Should I be worried about anything else but a rash?  I just wish it would go away!

How long does it take for something like this to normally go away if it is just a rash?  He stated there was not fungus or yeast.

Any advise would be appreciated!

Hello again everyone, I have went back to a dermatologist for a second time.  This time he gave me a mix of zinc oxide, and 2 other creams which I am not familiar with.  Again, I am not seeing a lot of relief.

Why is it you never seem to get any definitive answer at the Dr.'s office anymore?  He could not tell me why I was not getting any better after 4 weeks.

Please, anyone else have any other idea's?

Again, there are no bumps, only redness with mild irritation.  But my stress level makes it worse I think.....

Thanks
