Risk and Fears of Performing Oral Sex on a Woman and protected intercourse.

Dr.

Thank you for this forum and for answering questions for us worried people.  I have a wife and have a baby.  I strayed for the first and only time in my life.
Late last year, my risk was unprotected oral sex(cunnilingus)on a girl I knew for only 1 week. She wasnt on her period, she didnt have any visible warts, lesions, or sores that I could see, and no weird smells.  I also used my 2 fingers to stimulate her and she supposedly had an orgasm.  I have read there are risk with cunnilingus but low. Some sites say there are no risks but I want to be sure. I also had sex with her 2 times that night, which was using a condom each time.
End of Jan, I had a STD panel done for Syphilis, Chlamydia, and Gonnarhea. They took blood, and urine.  My tests all came back negative, but I am wondering if I needed to take additional test for my throat for STD's or does the urine test(chlamydia and Gonorhea) also detect if I have it in my throat?  The blood test was for syphilis and Hepatitis A B C.  I have not had any symptoms at all for anything.  No sore throat, no fever, nothing at all.  Plus, (knock on wood), I have a really strong immune system because I never get sick at all.  I sometimes suffer from hay fever, which makes me sneeze and have itchy/watery eyes which I take drixoral for and now flonase nasal spray.  Does my action with this woman warrant me to test for HIV.  I read your post top people, and If you give me reassurance that I dont need to test for HIV, I will move on with my life and not worry about it.

Waiting for your thoughts Dr. Thank you very much and god bless.

If you have read the several other strings with similar questions, this response will be familiar to you.

Your risk of any STD from that exposure is exceedingly low.  The risk of HIV was virtually zero, so I do not think you need to be tested.  However, many people who start to worry about HIV in this circumstance have a great deal of trouble getting it out of their minds - i.e., my reassurance doesn't have the same power as a negative test result.

So consider whether you will rest easier when you get the negative result.  If so, get tested.  But the choice is yours.

Best wishes--  HHH, MD

Dr.

thanks for your comments.  I did read the other comments on cunnilingus risks.  Like I said Doc, I am not as paranoid as some others here on the site have sounded like. I will tell you that if you reassure me that I have nothing to worry about, that I do not need to test for HIV, then I will not test and worry about HIV and passing it to my wife or newborn.

Thanks for your advice Dr.  I am looking forward to hearing from you!!  Trust me, I will listen to what you tell me to do.

Now..did you learn your lesson about cheating on your wife?  Did you tell HER that you risked infecting her with nasty stuff or does she still think you are her loving husband?  It slays me when I read some of these posts..alot of the people on this board are so careless.  "I had sex with a hooker now Im worried..I had sex with an hiv possitive person and I'm scared..I had a one night stand now I have a rash".  Don't you people see a pattern?  The reason that these problems are SUCH in issue is because of careless behaivor just like this.  What if you did contract hiv and wont know it until you pass it to your wife 6 mos or a year from now?  What then. That isnt the way to show someone that you love them...especailly someone you've promised to make a life with.
Careless man..really careless.
