Risk for STD?

by ReallyScared2008, Dec 08, 2008 10:28PM
Dear Dr,
Recently in early september I performed oral sex on a guy.
He ejaculated into my mouth.
About 3 days later I had severe throat, I went to the Docter and I was
diagnosed with strep. I was given a perscription for 10 days, but only took
it for 4 days. My throat started hearting again, and so I took another pill
2 days later and went to the doctor to test for strep again, it came back
negative because I took the medication apparently. He perscribed me a
new medication, for 10 days and I finished it. The swelling of my tonsils
went down and I felt better for about a week. Then I noticed a cyst in the back of
my throat by my tonsils, which were swollen again. It is red, and the first
week it was incredibly painful to swallow anything because it would touch
a cyst (or that is what I think it is). It is now December and my tonsils are still
swollen. I'm worried I have HIV, or HPV, AIDS, or any type of STD. Do these
symptoms relate to any of these horrible things? Any recommendations.
Im going to get a HIV test tomorrow. I also had unprotected sex with the same
guy, but nothing is wrong "down there", as far as I can tell. AND I can't find
anything that explains the cyst type thing in my throat. Besides it being a papiloma cyst
possibly... its really painful to touch it, really red, and hard.
PLEASE HELP, Im scared :(

This doesn't sound like any std, and the only ones you'd be at risk for are gonorrhea and syphilis.

I think its time to go back to the doctor, and maybe go to an ear nose and throat doctor.

If you had unprotected sex, you should also get some std tests as a rule.
