Risk of STD

Dear Moderators/Members,

I am a uncircumsiced male of 35 years age. I visited a brothel in Germany about a month back and had sex multiple times with different ladies. The oral sex (only fellatio) was unprotected but intercourse was protected. Each time I withdrew after ejaculation, I could see the condom in place. However, a few weeks on I started having some health issues like an episode of angular cheilitis (went away in 4-5 days after treatment with clotrimazole ointment), muscle and joint pains here and there, a few red pimple kind of spots on the back and a burning sensation in the penis. I visited a GP today and told him about the burning sensation in penis. He did a quick test of urine (I guess with the urine test strips) and said it was normal. Then he asked me if STD was a possibility and I said could be due to my brothel visit. He has put me on amoxicillin 1000mg twice a day for 5 days. He told me to visit a urologist if there is still no relief. With this information, could you kindly provide your advice on my questions below.
1. I understand that HIV is not a possibility from unprotected oral sex, but others like NGU, chlamydia, gonorrhoea, syphilis, herpes are possible. Could you confirm this?
2. I also understand that HIV is not a possibility from protected intercourse if condom is used correctly, but are other STDs possible?
3. Would amoxicillin 1000mg twice a day for 5 days cure any of the bacterial STIs?
4. If an infection was present, would it not show up in the quick urine test with strips (leukocytes reading would be abnormal)?

Thank you for taking the time to read my post and looking forward to you reply.

Best Regards,
Jack

Oral is considered low risk activity but the more frequent we do it with those with unknown status the risk does increase. Test if you have a long term partner.

Thank you Life360 for you quick response. Oral was not deep throat. Moreover, I do not have any physical abnormalities on penis (sores, leisons, discharge). Just this burning sensation since last 5 days, even when i am not urinating. However, I did have shaving cuts on the base of penis, since I had shaved my pubic area before visting the brothel. I did not see any visible sores on the mouth of the ladies though. Would this still be a risk?

Hi.
1.  If they did not give you a "deep throat" oral, the more common risk would be for NGU as some mouth bacterias are not common inside the urethra.
If there was a deep throat then the risk would be for gono and chlamydia. With them no having any lip sores, the risk for herpes would be quite low as shedding does not occur that often with hsv1 oral.
If there were no mouth sores and you did not have a penis cut for the bacteria to enter. you can rule out syphilis as well.

3. ask your doc about this.
4. takes at least 5 days for symptoms of urethra infection to show up and they would be a white urethra discharge and burning while urinating.

1. Yes
2. Yes
3. We don't give medication info and don't recommend self medication
4. No

Your risk was low, overall I would not be concerned.
