STD Results - Multiple Positives?

I originally went in for a semi comprehensive STD screening because I was afraid I had gotten gonorhea/chlaymidia and the results came back.  I tested negatives for those but positive for: ureaplasma urealyticum, veillonella, gardnerella vaginalis, and streptococcus group B

Does this seem like a normal test result?  I am a male and the first one seems like something only a woman gets? A little confused, not sure what any of these are really?

The doctor prescribed me with: antibiotics of doxycycline hyclate 100m, metronidazole 250 mg, and a pro biotic.  I started taking them and have gotten a little bit of of a cough and tiredness about a day and a half after I started taking them.  Is this okay and am I just normal sick or is this something that is a cause for concern that would affect the effectiveness of the drugs?

males still get infected with those - they aren't exclusive to females, just us females are more typically infected with gardnerella for instance.

Okay, that's good to know.  Yeah, they tested for 30 thing, pretty extensive list I guess *shrug*.  I just am having trouble understanding why i tested positive for a few infections that seem to be generally for females (as I am a male); ureaplasma urealyticum, veillonella, gardnerella vaginalis?  Is that normal, it just seems weird to me.

the reference range of negative means that ideally, you'd want a negative result.

I'm surprised that you were even tested for that many things to be honest.  they are all usually cleared up pretty easily with antibiotics.

Oh also, on the results sheet those (ureaplasma urealyticum, veillonella, gardnerella vaginalis, and streptococcus group B) were listed as positive for the 'Test Result' and as a negative in the 'Reference Range' column to the right of it.  What does this mean?  Sorry for the multiple posts!

The doctor recommends antiobiotics and then to come back in two weeks to check up.  I haven't talked to him in person yet, this is just the emailed results I have from him.  I plan to go in Monday, but would like to go in with a little bit of an idea of what these are/will they completely go away after the antibiotic treatment etc?

Thanks so much.  This forum is a tremendous help.
