STD Symptoms (Come and Go) But Remain Despite Treatment.

Two months ago I had both oral and regular intercourse with two different women on different nights. Both times were unprotected.

Aprox 5 days later, I started feeling a warm, tingling sensation just at the tip and inside of my penis. Another day or two passed and I started to feel discomfort in my testicles. To this day, I've never had any type of fever or aches and pains. No discharge. There is no real pain or discomfort when I urinate, it draws more attention to the tingling sensation in the tip.

When I returned home, I went straight to the clinic. They tested me for Chlamydia and Gonorrhea. Both tests came back negative. As the symptoms persisted, I returned to see if it could be something else (herpes, trich, etc) The doctor did not treat me for Trich but did take another urine sample to be tested. That sample came back negative. From what I have read though, I don't put much stock in that.

The sensation for a while seemed to move from the tip of my penis to discomfort in my testicles. For almost a week, the sensation in the tip of my penis was unnoticeable and seemed to have cleared up. Last week it came back in full force and I am hyper aware of it. It feels warm and sensitive.

I'm afraid I have Trich, based on everything I have read and I am terrified that I have passed it on to my partner. I have never cheated before and I am just racked with guilt.

Thanks Howard, that gives me some piece of mind. It's been a long two months and I just want to feel better and get back to my life. I am hyper focused on it and have spent too many long nights researching and self diagnosing.

Welcome to the STD community forum.

You don't have STD symptoms. There are no STDs, including trichomonas, that would cause any of the various discomforts you describe. In addition, there is no urethral or urinary tract infection, STD or otherwise, likely to cause symptoms that come and go as you have described. On the other hand, your symptoms are perfectly typical for genitally focused anxiety, which would go along with "racked with guilt".

If you have continued to work with your doctor after the negative STD tests, my guess is that s/he has said much the same thing. My advice is that you trust the negative test results and your doctor, and try to separate your gullt and shame over some sexual decisions you regret with infection consequences. They aren't the same and I'm quite confident you have no infection of any kind from these sexual exposures.

I hope this has been helpful. Good luck!
