STD Treatment

by dids1972, Mar 11, 2009 09:37AM
Exposure: Unprotected oral sex and protected sex.

Symptom : White discharge from Penis three day after exposure.

Treatment : Doxycycline 100mg BD 3 days

Colourless discharge still on, but in very small quantity.

Is the line of treatment OK. How long should I take Doxy.

When will I cease to be carrier of STD.

When one should be checked up for HIV after exposure?

Did you see a Dr or did you self medicate?

by Vance2335, Mar 11, 2009 12:10PM
You can only have 1 account, you can't have different accounts.

Medication was prescribed by a doctor.

Ok, just wanted to make sure the right person was getting the right info.
The treatment was ok, how long is the prescription for?

What was your exposure? Unprotected sex, oral?

by dids1972, Mar 11, 2009 12:52PM
unprotected oral sex (received from a CSW) and protected sex with CSW.

Doxy was prescribed for 3 days only.

However I continued 4th day(today) on my own. Should I continue for some more days.

No, the treatment should work. The symptoms should be gone completly in a couple of days. if not then follow up with the Dr. Sounds like either gonorrhea or NGU.

What is the treatment for Gonorrhea and NGU

by auntiejessi, Mar 12, 2009 12:25PM
You should be on doxy for 7 days.

by auntiejessi, Mar 12, 2009 12:28PM
Doxy won't cure gonorrhea, but if you've been to the doctor, you've been tested and can wait to see the results and get a prescription from the doctor.

To: Everyone ...
ALWAYS take medication as prescribed and more importantly, antibiotics must be taken as directed.  Usually all are taken over the period prescribed.  Even if symptoms go away or you feel better, you must complete taking the meds as prescribed.  This is true for any bacterial infection you may have.
