Vance2335, based on my reply to your question, could you please provide me your final thoughts?
Do you think I have justification for concern?
Worse case scenario, based on wife's rash - how long would she keep it for a justifiable concern for Syphilis?
Please reply. Thank you for your patience! I greatly appreciate it.
RE: your question back to me... Possible Syphilis sore is appx 4 inches above knee on inside of leg. Remember, I said woman on 6/1 was on top, so that is why I am worried... but the thing that I'm holding onto is the fact that I noticed the soar so soon after 6/1 (like on 6/2, 6/3). Everything I'm reading, what this forum is saying, and my derm ... is a Syphlis sore wouldn't appear so fast.
Final thoughts? and... I promise I'll back off.
THANK YOU.
1) How would you get syphilis on your knee? It happens where contact is.
2) Yes I do. I don't see any coincidences here
3) Really none
4) 1000 reasons why a rash appears.
Guilt does not equal risk.
Thank you for your reply. I promise I'll bring this to a close.
Just to recap from original 6/21 post, because I'm sure you reply to hundreds of people... I did have an unusually, gnarly red sore with a greyish / dark surrounding just above my knee around 6/2 and definitely 6/3. That sore has all but vanished off my leg. It does however appear as what I would classify as a "dark spot" on my leg.
1.) You are still saying that is too early to be a Syphilis sore? I did google and there are some nasty pics, but some that are benign as well. I think if it weren't for that sore, I wouldn't be so worried about wife's rash.
2.) At some point, there has to be an end to all these coincidences. Do you think this is still anxiety working here?
3.) At this point, I do (despite my posts), feel confident in my test results. I've seen responses from this forum as well as the doc forum to say "trust your test results 25+ days post exposure." What other STDs such as "skin to skin" infections should I be worried about?
Otherwise phrased...
4.) Any type of situation you can think of that would cause this rash on wife that I have caused from this colossal mistake on 6/1?
Once again, THANK YOU ALL !!
1) Syphilis is very rare and you would have noticed a syphilis sore. Google it.
2) 6 weeks post exposure but see no reason for a test
3) I can't tell you how you get over something, but this is not going to be syphilis.
I know the people that have replied are getting frustrated with me, so I did what Vance2335 stated - backed away. I was not going to post anymore if I didn't notice any more s/s. 6/27, all results are negative. My s/s faded over a period of couple of days after that, so I think all of you were correct on the anxiety focus s/s, but wife has developed prickly rash on stomach, thighs, back around 7/3. Not on palms or bottom of feet, but everything I'm reading says Cyphillis rash could be anywhere. She has commented on it several times on how "unusual this is..." My test results were all negative, but as gracefromHHP and many others have stated, I tested too early for Cyphillis.
1.) Does anyone have any guidance, thoughts for me?
2.) When does one need to get tested to Cyphillis and be confident in the results? Without making you read over this whole blog - the exposure date was 6/1.
3.) I was just starting to feel better until I saw rash on wife. If this is indeed Cyphillis -- I know this is not a psychiatric forum, but tell me how does somebody get over something like this? I just can't vision my road to recovery. My life would be over. Because of the risk I have posed on my loved ones, I know I'd never see my kids again and my wife would definitely be gone. All the people I love would be gone.
Please help!
Sleeping or lack of sleeping has nothing to do with a STD.
It's time to step away from the forum because a STD is not your issue.
Could anyone elaborate on why since about 6/11 or so, wife not sleeping well without sleeping aid. Complains of constant fatigue. The only std I can match would be genital herpes. Neither of us seem to have any bumps, etc.
Dermatologist confirmed 6/18 lesion removed is a Condoloyma (HPV wart - non cancerous).
I know everyone up here says I don't need any further testing, but since symptoms will not subside, I went for round two of testing yesterday for everything. That is 25 days post exposure. Rapid screening rep said testing for Cyphillis would be accurate despite everything I'm reading is saying wait 6-8 weeks.
The only thing that is back so far is Cyphillis - it's negative, but have I tested once again too early?
Thanks folks.
Hello again,
The likelihood of transmitting something to your wife would be even lower than the initial probability that you caught something to begin with.
We know that not every sexual unprotected act leads to infection. To begin with we all think you had a low risk, and thus are fine.
Since you probably caught nothing.
then you probably are not a vector for STDs,
thus you probably aren't infecting your wife.
I appreciate everyone's response from this forum. I went to get more STD testing today. Waiting on results. If something comes back positive, what is the likelihood of transmitting to wife? 3 unprotected sexual encounters since 6/1, but "pulled out."
The reason I went to do more testing is because the symptoms will just not subside. Constant stinging in tip of penis and right testicle aching again today.
Thanks for being straight up with me.
I am not sure what it was. Likely irritant or something. I did have bacteria there but it wasn't STD related.
Then I got a urethra swab, (you don't want to do that ---its painful).
I think that just contributed to the irritation, then over a month later I was fine.
Good luck.
Yesterday was the first day of no severe pain in right testicle. Tingling / burning sensation in tip of penis with slight clear dribble is still there. I'm not convinced I don't have maybe a slight bump or something inside tip of urethra. I saw your comment about UTI testing if symptoms still present after a month. Well, I tested negative for UTI on 6/11.
So, I saw you response in that you had similar symptoms before and it turned out to be a chemical irritant or something? Thanks for your time in replying to me.
Your comments help some. I guess I'm concerned more about being deceptive from day 1 with the Dr and perhaps he has misdiagnosed me. As you know, I didn't disclose I had protected sex with a prostitute, so he probably went down a different diagnosis trail all together. Last dose of Cipro is onboard and I'm still having symptoms. Thanks.
Hello
Please don't do anything to harm yourself.
As I said before I know your symptoms are real. I believe you. But I think to some extent you are taking other things out of context and guilt IS playing some role.
Answers:
Chlamydia is a bacteria. If you tested negative for a UTI, then you tested negative for NGU.
The irritation you have in your penis should go away in a few days, and yes I think its from some chemical.
Your prostate infection has NOTHING to do with your encounter on 6/1.
Thank you for taking the time to try and calm me down. I am listening and your comments are helping, but these are real symptoms I'm having. I think if I were having just ONE I would be more apt to saying "it's in my head." But, I'm having ball busting aches in my my right testicle at least 2 hours per day. Remember, I'm on Cipro but I take my last one tonight. Not to mention, these symptoms resemble Chlamydia or NGU and from what I've read, Cipro will not 100% cure that. Not to mention, if I do have an STD, the damage is done. I've already infected my wife because we have had unprotected sex 3 times since 6/1. This is not the first time I've been unfaithful, but if God gives me another chance, I can promise it will be my last.
On 6/11, they performed urinalysis & tested for UTI and Prostate infection. UTI test was negative immediately. A couple of days later, urinalysis tested negative for prostate infection - meaning, no bacteria. Well, if I had Chlamydia - that is bacteria correct? Wouldn't it have showed up or do they have to run that specific test? Could this whole deal be Utheritis from the clean-up / baby wipes used on 6/1? Wishful thinking I know.
Please - anyone reply with help. I'm desperate! Be realistic though. Tell me the truth. I am very suicidal at this point. I know my wife would be gone. That is a given, but she would never trust me around my children anymore. My life would essentially be over anyway.
Hey,
It's not going to "end your life". Don't let it.
Again you were at zero risk for chlamydia, and any NGU causing bacteria from your initial encounter on 6/1.
The only thing you tested too soon for was syphilis. (None of us think you got that).
Now we believe you that you are not fabricating these sensations.... In fact I think its all coincidental.

I greatly appreciate your words of encouragement. I think I would feel a whole lot better about this if I were not having signs / symptoms. This is not just in my head. Last night my right testicle was hurting so bad I thought it was going to fall off. The stinging in the tip of my penis and "dribble" will not go away, although the pain in testicles does come and go. As I type this, no pain. Seems to be every 24-48 hours or so. The stinging stays though. I'm going to go for anonymous std testing next week. I know you mentioned I tested too soon. Is this test window Ok / better? If I test positive, I'm confident I would end my life. I'm serious. My dermatologist said my soar on my leg was an ingrown hair. It is fading away. Thanks so much.
this was a completely protected encounter. don't let your guilt over it make you think you had real risk.
I wasn't even thinking stds as a cause of your leg sore actually. many other things can cause sores and I was wondering if your provider took a good look at it to see if it looked like an ingrown hair or just what.
Crystal clear on HPV.
My soar is slowly going away. But everything I've read on Syphilis says that it will go away. The one key thing my dermatologist said that I wouldn't get a Syphilis soar after only 1 or 2 days. True?
It does greatly concern me that you said I had my testing done too early. Please understand I had the test performed on 6/5 and the results didn't come back until 3 or 4 days after that. Do you still think I could have something like Chlamydia? All my signs and symptoms are pointing to that, but I'm trying to think positive.
Thanks for your help Grace.
also did the doctor look at the sore on your leg? if it doesn't clear up, follow up on that too.
Ok let's clear up a few things here :)
pap testing is not std testing. it also doesn't look for hpv infections. when hpv testing is ordered along with a pap test, it only looks for the types of infections that infect the cervix, it doesn't detect hpv infections externally ( the kinds that cause genital warts ). It's specific testing on a specific area of the body and is meant to screen for cervical cancer, not stds.
you had a completely protected encounter. the odds you contracted any std from this encounter are incredibly low. So far the testing you had was all done too early too. At this point, follow up with syphilis testing any time after 6 weeks post encounter and type specific herpes igg blood testing after 3 months. That would be fully covering your bases with the std's we can test for that would be any real risk from protected sex like you had with the sex worker.
many bacteria can cause prostate infections. It could even be something you got from your wife. At this point complete your antibiotics, drink plenty of fluids and try to keep busy so that you don't create more anxiety from your encounter outside of your relationship than is needed. Indeed prostate infections do cause real symptoms and real pain - give the medication time to work!

Would you please read over my thread and give me your input. Thanks.
You should forget about your protected sex with the prostitute. You doc doesn't need to know this.
