STD or Bladder infection

I had sex outside of my marriage 6 months ago.  Condom broke very briefly (2-3 pumps at most).  About a month later I started to have significant irritation with my prostate, increased frequency, and signs of bladder infection.  Dr prescribed cipro 500 mg 2X daily for 10 days, based on previous prostaititis.  Symptoms eased a little, but still had frequency issues, slight discomfort in pubic area, irritated meatus.  Through this whole period, I have had ZERO discharge (no discharge for my wife either). My wife has had some bladder discomfort, and increased urinary frequency. Recently went back to dr, as prostate irritation continued, and I have had urine leakage issues.  Again, prescribed cipro 500mg 2x for 7 days.  10 days after cipro ended, I did have a set of std tests done.  (We did have sex during the cipro cycle multiple times).  All came back negative. Would the cipro have caused a negative?  Or would the dead cells of potential chalmydia still have shown up (urine test).  Should I get retested?  What else could this be?

Thanks for the help on this - I appreciate it.
One last question.
Should I insist on testing specifically for M Genitalium based on symptoms?
It was not part of the panel of tests I originally had.

If your constantly checking it you could inflame it yourself. Other than that balantis is a common cause of inflamed meatus or fungal related. Nothing to do with your prostate.

Would it be normal to have no discharge from either of us for this period of time if std?  She has had zero course of antibiotics.

Apologies, I did also have HIV/syphillis as part of the panel.  Again, all were negative. - only thing the panel did not test of concern was mycoplasma genitalium.

Would the meatus typically be inflamed from prostate issues?  I just don't remember this happening.

Hi also, Vance is correct in doubting its an std. You had prostitius before and are experiencing the same issues. Also coming down with this a month later is also not consistant with the exposure you describe. Leakage is a sign of a prostate issue as being inflamed would put pressure on your urethra that runs through the middle of it.
Since your married i would suggest that you test for other std,s other than gono and chlamydia for your wifes protection. They would include HIV and syphilis as you were exposed with the condom breaking. This is not to cause alarm but for protecting your wife.
