STD?

Hello,

I am 20 years old and have had unprotected sex about 3-4 weeks ago. Today I noticed a very small red patch on the underside of my penis close to the head. If I stretch the red skin apart, there seems to be a very small single cut/crack in the patch, however, I am unsure if this is just irritation or a possible std (herpes?). Please help. Thank you.

impossible to say what it is or isnt.  If it clears in a day or so very unlikely to be herpes, keep an eye on it and if it concerns you get it tested.  Always use condoms for casual sex to avoid these anxieties

Thank you I appreciate your response. So would you have to guess that this is just normal irritation of the skin?

Herpes would typically appear 2-5 days and very rarely out to 3 weeks as 1 or more blisters but can show no symptom at all.
It doesnt sound like herpes which would blister and scab over.
If you remained concerned get it checked ideally while you have symptopms
Unprotected sex with unknown partners does of course pose std risks so you might like to consider a 6 week test which would cover you for syphilis, gonnoreah, hiv, and clamydia but I wouldnt be overly concerned unless symptoms persist or get appear differently
