Saliva and gonorrhea

Dear doctors,

You helped me before with my questions. I looked through the archives but i did not find exactly wat i am looking for.

Here it goes. I went to a prostitute in belgium. And here is the problem. She put on the condom with her mouth. The condom was entirely in her mouth and she put it on while giving fellatio. After the fellatio with condom she took it off to give me a handjob. She spat a few times on my penis while giving me a handjob. So there was saliva on my urethra.

My concern is that there was saliva used as lubricant and the fact that she had the condom entirely in her mouth when she put it on with her mouth.

This happend last wednesday. I came home and anxiety got the best of me and i took a pill of doxy 200mg 4 hours after the event. I took every evening and morning 200 mg on thursday friday saturday. 2 pills of 100 mg on sunday and monday. And now i have 1 more 100mg for next morning

Friday i also took 1,5g azithromycin.

I know my risk is low but in the unlikely event i got gonorrhea would the doxy and azithromycin cure me?

Can you give me your input.

Kind regards.

Welcome to the Forum.  From your description of the events, I am confident that you are not at any risk for having gonorrhea at this time.  In fact, there was no risk for gonorrhea to start with. not only is it unlikely that your partner had oral gonorrhea but gonorrhea is not transmitted in saliva from persons with oral gonorrhea.  When persons have oral gonorrhea, the infection is in the cells which line the throat, not the saliva.

Even if you had acquired gonorrhea, the antibiotics you took would have prevent/cured infection.

At this time, there is no reason to worry or to test for gonorrhea or other STI

I hope these comments are helpful to you. EWH

The symptoms of gonorrhea do not come and go.

There was no reason for you or your wife to take cefixime.  If you'd had gonorrhea, it likely would have cured it but I am confident you did not.

This will be my final reply to this thread. Further questions will be deleted without comment.  EWH

Dear doctor,

I know you are getting tired of me. But i have one more question. Can you please answer this.

After al these antibiotics my wife was due for her period on Friday 6/6/14. On saturday 7/6/14 she had a minor drop of blood so she thought her period begon. But on Sunday, monday and tuesday she had no blood. And than on wednesday she had her full period. We had unproteced sex on sunday 8/6/14

I freaked out again and thought this little blood on saturday was from gonorrhea.
In total panic my wife and me took each 400 mg cefixime for a possible gonorrhea infection.

I still have nog discharge but a feel of discomfort that comes and goes.

Can you answer me this last question?
What are the chances that 400mg cefixime cures gonorrhea a week after we both took all the azithromycin?
What are the chances that this discomfort that comes and goes is gonorrhea?
Can you please give me your final answer.

Kind regards

Ok dear doctor,

I will follow your advice and try to calm down.

From your explanation from the event, i will conclude that there was no risk for gonorrhea and if there was any risk at all the antibiotics i took would prevented an infection to my wife.

And that the last antibiotics me and my wife took would most like cure most gonorrhea infections.

So the chance would be almost zero? right?

I will continue with counselling however to help me to quit my addiction.

I am just so afraid of hurting my wife.

1.  You have been examined by an expert who, I'm sure, considered the possibility of STD.  It is far more likely that you rash is from your repeated self examination than anything else.  Try to not repeatedly examine yourself.

2. Recommended therapy for gonorrhea with azithromycin is 2.0 grams.  The same dose will cure most syphilis.  The medication you took, while not the recommended dose, would probably cure most infections.

In all seriousness however, it appears that you are seriously over reacting.  Try to move forward.  EWH

Dear doctor,

I know you said that is time to end this thread. But can you please answer this last question to me because i'm in total panic.

After your last answer i got a feeling in my penis like there is discharge but when i checked my penis there was nothing to see. This feeling came and went away the last week.

I also checked my penis a lot the last week and last wednesday i developed a red rash on my penis glad. And my gland hurt when i touched it. No blisters or ulcers.

2 days ago i went to a dermatologist because i was afraid of a yeast infection or someting. But she thought it was irritated from friction. She prescribed me a lotion and said it must be gone in a week.

Here are my questions:

1) Could the red rash be an std or would it be from checking my penis and friction? I'm worried because the rash stays long.
2) Monday i was in total panic of gonorrhea and my and my wife took both 1.5g azithromycin and yesterday another 750mg azithromycin. Would this cure a possible gonorrhea infection or syphillis?

Sorry for bothering you but you are my only help to calm me.

Kind regards

Thank you dear doctor. I just made an appointment for counselling to help me.

But i'm glad to hear you say that the condom was fully in her mouth before she put it on py penis was a no risk infection for gonorrhea.

Am i right about this?

Kind regards

Yes, the antibiotics would have most likely already had an affect by the time you had sex with your wife.  EWH

Dear doctor,

Thank you for your answer. i have 1 more answer.
Last Sunday i had unprotected sex with my wife.
I know you said that gonorrhea infection is not possible from this exposure.
But if i had acquired gonorrhea would i already have been non - infectious by then because of the antibiotics i took?

I am ashemed by my beheviour and i try to stay away from massage parlors but sometimes it get the best of of me. And i know it is more guilt that is playing with me know.

Kind regards
